Poppy sat at a table in a library surrounded by a pile of books. The fae wings could be barely seen peaking over the books. A flustered sigh could be heard from the fae as she shifted more books to the side as she determined they didnt have what she was looking for within them.
Poppy looks up at the construct for a moment to note it's presence before continue. "Location spells. Any records, legends of Tarkalsys. I need to track someone. For answers" she said as she flipped through more pages of books. She was short not to be rude but was more focused on what she was doing then on the person in front of her. "Why are you taking notes?" She inquired without looking up from what she was doing
Rune stops writing for a moment, nods, and continues. "This one has instructed all docents to take note of which books you and other members of Mischef read. Your guild has been known to practice dark rituals that sacrifice children. Its best to know how to reverse those effects. Consquently, this one does not believe you are looking for such a ritual." Rune opens a small portal and drops the book into it before finishing it's thought; "You are looking for the vampire that infected you."
The fae pauses looking up from the book laughing for a moment at Rune's comment "I doubt these wall contain anything on Etjeril, or others of that nature. Much less their rituals and rights of passage." she said shaking her head
A frown can be seen forming on the fae's face as she hears the word infected. "Yes, I am looking for my sire. That is the proper word for it." she said before continuing to flip through the book infront of her.
*Not wanting to be rude, Esgir had accepted the books offered by Rune, although golemancy wasn't his current course of study. Once the construct had left he returned the books to their proper places, picking up the books he had been poring over and following after Rune, hoping to get an answer, or at least more guidance. Arriving in time to hear Poppy's laugh and reply to the construct.*
"Aye, aye'm havin' a fair deal o' difficulty m'self in tryin' t' uncover inf'rmation on Secronus. What little aye've found dunnae seem to tell me what aye expected at all."
*The dwarf shifted on his feet a bit, Poppy's vampirism had been information to him recently, but everyone else seemed to accept it as easily as anything else. While Esgir was still slightly more alert around her, he expected that if she were the kind to cause major problems the people of Jastrey would not be so nonchalant about it.*
"As f'r y'ur 'sire', aye'm unfamiliar with methods of tracking th' undead, aside from the manners which work on th' livin' as well. In m' travels as a merchant aye have heard of a 'monster hunting' academy, if ye'll pardon the title; if annaeone were t' know how t' track down ye're 'sire', aye'd think they would."
Poppy looked up at Esgir and smiled softly chuckling at bit to herself. "The monster hunting academy could possibly find him or shed light on how to, but I am afraid they would probably kill me and try to kill him the process. Traveling and tracking by foot as not been much use in locating him either, that was why I was hoping to find some magical means, or perhaps records on him" She leaning back in her chair laughing as she stretched. "But it would seem a vampire run carnival with a golem mime is harder to find then I originally thought."
She paused for a moment thinking about the dwarves original statement. "Why are you looking for information on the immortal, Secronus?"
"Tis odd indeed Miss Poppy, ye'd think a carnival o' annae kind would be easy t' track, 'specially if they had som'thin t' set 'em apart."
*Setting his books down on the edge of the table, careful to not disrupt the fae's own stacks.*
"Aye'm tryin' t' figure out why an' how aye came t' be in Jastrey; so I s'ppose tis a search fer meself more than Secronus. But all aye know was tha', when I stumbled out'ta them woods an' ended up 'ere, Jastrey was contending with a time rift o' some kind, an' then Secronus collapsed the void in on Jastrey an' we 'ad t' find our way home."
*Shaking his head.*
"Aye'd thought, at first, I'd been brought 'ere an' now f'r a reason, but perhaps twas jest a side affect o' whate'er magics Secronus was usin' at th' time..."
Poppy seeing the dwarf attends to sit down sliding some of the books closer to her to make room. "That you would" she said giggling.
"Ah, I don't know much in the supposed 'master of shrouds' in relation of town. This place does seem to have an odd history with him. When I arrived here they were trying to decide on whether or not to kill the immortal." She pauses for a moment thinking on the memory. "Thalenir, seemed to know a lot about him perhaps you should ask him?" She raises a curious look at the dwarf for moment. "You were brought to Jastrey?"
*Nodding.*
"That he might, perhaps i should try t' 'ave a word with 'im."
"Not in the sense of being forcefully brought somewhere, but aye was displaced from where I was an' ended up on the outskirts o' town. Aye consulted me maps, tried t' go back, but only ended up 'ere ag'in."
Weylyn came into view down an asle, his ears swiveled to the group and he stopped. He looked before making his way over. "Greetings." He said bowing his head to the three in a quick greeting "Rune-san, you wouldn't happen to know who has-" He started but cut off when he saw Poppy's stacks of books "Dark Beings of the Dark Swamp." He finished picking out one of the books that the fae hadn't gotten to yet. "My appologies, I wasn't aware someone was reading that tomb Poppy-san." he told the winter fae.
Poppy furrowed her eyebrows together as she listened to the dwarf. " Mhmmm That is certainly odd the only other time I have ever ran in to something of that nature is in Nastal in Sequematia forest. "
Poppy glances towards the ulf. "Oh, it is okay, I took quiet a few at once. I was not sure if there was a limit or anything." She said laughing lightly. "Did you need one of them?" "I will set them back to where they go when I am done." she said nodding toward Weylyn.
"Ummm yes maybe." She said seeming scattered brain for a moment as she digs through note book she had been writing in. "I am trying to find another vampire. My sire. ." She paused for a moment "Don't worry I don't plan to bring him here" she said quickly trying not to cause alarm in the ulf. "I would go to him if possible. The problem is finding the fucker." she said pouting.
Weylyn nodded to show he was following her "Well... I might be able to help with that..." He said though his ears splayed out a bit in embaressment but he continued "I just worked out how scry locations recently but unless you have at least a general vacinity or possibly obvious marking like rock formations that might not be too helpful." he added.
Poppy listen to him nodding for a moment before answering."Why the embarrassment?" She asked curiously reading his body language.
She cleared her throat before continuing "Maybe, it is in Tarkalsys, I think. I don't know if it is always there. We went last year for the fall Reaping. Some of the details are still a little fuzzy." she said rubbing her temples. "But I suppose massive blood loss will do that to you." She said laughing. "I don't remember any on the area around it besides the swamp. and the entrance it was a cutout of a huge fiend head. " She said motioning it with her hands.
She smiled softly at the ulf. "It is worth a shot, if it fails I can mark off as another place I know he is not. Don't be so stressed about it" She said giggling.
She turn serious for a moment when she hears the dwarf chime in. "Yes, from what I have gathered ironically while there is the monster hunter place is in Tarkalsys as a whole seem to be a safe haven for vampires and other creatures. " She runs her finger through her hair as she takes a deep breath. "Yeah, he was strong, really strong. He used a kind of magic I have never even seen before, and one I havent been able to find in the records yet " she said a firm frown on her face
Weylyn raised an eyebrow "Ironically? I suppose that might be the case if the monster hunters were their first. But wouldn't it make more sense that the hunters are there because of the darker beings than the other way around?" He asked a little amused before he returned to the rest of her words. "But unknown magics...that's both interesting and worrying... I'm not sure if I'd want to go ask questions to run." He joked weakly.
"But as you say Poppy-san. Trying doesn't hurt us, and eliminating on location at least means less area to walk." He paused as he recalled what she had said exactly "Pardon though, you said a... cutout of a huge fiend head?" He asked looking a little confused
"They might of been, I don't know the history of the place that far back. I just find it assmuing. It is not often that those two groups find each other so close to one another." she said shaking her head. "prehapes ironically not the best word to use." she said laughing.
She nodded towards the ulf's concern. "Yes, things we cant prepare for, or understand can often have that effect." "That is one of my reasons for seeking him out" She said nodding. "Mhmm? Oh, it was the entrance to the carnival, it was a pit fiends head with it's mouth open, minus the lower jaw. We walked through the mouth to enter the carnival. It was quiet large we saw it in the distance long before we reached the carnvial itself."
Weylyn thought for a moment. "Carnival? So like large colored tents as well?" He paused and thought for a moment. "That does seem like something that will stand out... even if it's not a permanent structure searching for it might be enough to get use to a smaller area that we can search on foot or with a spell. " He offered.
Poppy wait listening to first to what the two had to say before answering. "Mhmm yes, I suppose it is possible that it has some sort of cloaking mechanism. That could explain why I have had trouble finding. I don't think it made people forget. My memory is just a little fuzzy towards the end. I died for a moment only to come back.. in a different state." The Fae turned towards to Weylyn to continue "Oh, Yes it is. Did I fail to mention that?" She said clasping her hands together. "But yes! It had colourful tents and games, clowns and Stuff!" she said greeting excited again for moment." "But yes I have a feeling it may be magical a bit in nature so perhaps a spell would work better?"
Weylyn nodded "I wasn't aware." He admitted before continuing "But that might make it easier. Latch on to a strong memory might find it. If it doesn't maybe it would be close enough that a view from the air could pick out something as out of place as bright colors in a swamp." he said with a soft chuckle.
The golem, who until this point had remained quiet, finally chips in; "This one has an idea. Perhaps, with use of Weylen's Seer talents and a trip to the Astral Sea, we could enact a ritual to scry upon Poppy's Sire. This one submits a possiblity of creating a shared dream space."
"Yes you would think the bright colours would make it easier to find." she said laughing.
Poppy ponders it for a moment. "That may be a good approach." She pauses for a moment a slight look of concern on her face. "But how will you extract or find the info you are looking for? Isn't the astral a bit fickle? Would focusing on the memory be enough?" "I am sorry, I don't know much about seer related magic." She said shaking her head. "Don't want the two of you just poking around in my head with no rhyme or rhythm." she said laughing nervously.
Rune focuses on the fae, "Many portals require a catalyst of some kind. This one seeks to use a combonation of your blood and soul, parts of which have been tainted by him, as such. The objective is to open a portal very, very close to him. The astral should allows us to get the soul based components from you."
Having delivered the books on golemancy to Esgir, Rune took notice of the Mischief member and her pile of books. The construct's lights brighten and dim, as if it were sighing. Rune conjures a small tome and begins to take notes on which books the fae is pouring over. "How can we help you today, Mistress Poppy." emits from the construct.
