Taklinn's cabin

Taklinn walks towards his cabin quickly, cursing under his breath for being away for too long.  As he walks up to the cabin he sees the two mages that have been guarding Grishal.  He stops briefly to have a small quiet discussion before entering his cabin.  "It is done fer now's me guess, I would wager that ye two could go and speak to Garith and Astrum there if yer needin' any other news or orders.  Thank ye lads."  After their hushed conversation, Taklinn walks up to his door and puts his hand over the knob, fearful of what may be waiting for him behind this door.  With a quick motion, he opens the door and walks in to see what damage, if any, Grishal has done to his home.

Glimmer rushes up behind Taklinn and grabs his hand off the doorknob before he can get the doorknob completely open.  She whispers quietly "It's me my dear.  I fear I have some information to share with you.  We need to speak in private immeadiately."  OOP I'll tell you when you get home :o)

.

Taklinn gets the door open about 6 inches and pulls it back closed as Glimmer shows up.  They talk quietly for a moment, and Taklinn's ears begin to turn pink.  He quickly calms himself and says to Glimmer "Well I'm guessin' that its high time we talked to him a bit more in depth.  If what ye say is true, then it is a pretty good act.  Well stay behind me then, and if I fall, pick me up and begin to raise the alarm to the rest o' the town."  With that he ascends the steps to his porch and once again opens the door to enter his cabin;  looking around the interior for his informant.  "Grishal........where you at?"

Grishal sits patiently in Taklinn's room waiting for the dwarf to return.  He can be seen sitting neatly on the bed picking his nose and eating buggers.  "Grishal no know what snot sucker means, but snot picker makes good desert."

The rest of the room lies in various states of disarray.  Drawers have been pulled open, trunks toppled over, and their various contents spilled across the floor.  A small hand axe can be seen embedded in the far wall.  The number of holes left in the wall around it indicate that it had been thrown quite a few times in frustration and boredom.

As Taklinn opens the door to address the goblin, Grishal snaps upright, places his hands under his bottom, and looks sheepish and polite.  "Grishal here Boss Takki-Sakks.  Grishal be good Mr. Gobbo while you gone.  Grishal save Boss' dried meat stash from the skull man.  Skull man scare Grishal more than dark man."

Glimmer follows Taklinn inside his cabin and takes in the sight of disarray.  She immediately becomes flustered and blows out a strong burst of air exclaiming "I don't know who could stand this.  Grishal did you make this mess?  If so, we must continue working on your shiny manners at once.  Tell us who the skull man is and what happened in here."  At that, Glimmer sqeezes Taklinn's shoulder and begins to clean up the cabin, putting things where they most likely should have gone in the first place.  To Taklinn and Grishal, it appears that she is quite frustrated at the mess that has been made.  Once everything is back in order, she pulls one of Taklinn's tankards out of a cabinet and begins digging in her pouch.  She pulls out a bunch of dried flowers tied with a red and yellow ribbon and places them in the tankard.  She then places the tankard on the table and looks at Taklinn, tapping her foot with a hand on her hip awaiting her thanks.  "Much better in here I believe my dear Taklinn.  If I wasn't still so angry with you for your snide comment of my being a companion, I'd have taken more care.  Shall I try to pull the axe out of your wall or can you handle that one my dear short friend?"  Glimmer giggles quietly to herself, amused at the situation.

Taklinn walks around the cabin putting things back where they belong, glaring at Grishal in between putting things aright.  At Glimmer's response he says "I didnt mean anything out of the way, I just don't want half the town tuggin' at me beard about it.  Thank ye fer yer help as always."  He then walks over to a stool and places it under the spot on the wall where the axe is embedded.  He climbs atop the stool and tugs hard on the axe; falling backwards to the floor when the axe is loosed from the wall.  Ears red, he stands up and looks at Grishal menacingly before going back over to notice how deeply embedded the axe was in the wood.  With that, he turns around and eyes the goblin sitting on his bunk.  "Lad, thats me bed yer sitting on, but as I didnt leave ye a place to sleep, I'm thinking that it may be something I will have to remedy."  Taklinn digs in one of his chests and pulls out a very large sack and walks outside, coming back in a few minutes later dragging the straw filled sack to an empty corner and placing it there.  He then digs in the chest again and pulls out a heavy blanket and lays it across the new bed.  After that task is done he then walks back outside, returning this time with a large piece of cut timber.  He grabs his smithy hammer and some spikes off of a nearby table and tacks up the timber near where Grishal was throwing his axe.  "If ye have to throw me axe at least use this as the target, ye durned fool!"  He flings the axe at Grishal's feet, sticking it into the floor in between the Goblins feet.  "Now that ye are situated, lets eat a bit and you tell me all about this Skull man, as well as all about Yer dealings with the Dark Man and Wreynn."

As Taklinn sits down at the table and begins to put food onto his plate, Glimmer is quite in awe of the lack of presentation before her.  She again places a hand on Taklinn's arm and quietly takes the spoon and bowl of stew from him.  She places his bowl before him and then gathers the axes and hammers off of the table, eyes Taklinn daring him to say something, and places them gently on the floor beside his feet.  She then prepares a bowl of fresh water she was heating in the fireplace and says "Dearest Takki-Sacks, while I respect that we are in your home at the moment, I would greatly appreciate the effort of cleaning yourself up a bit before you slop your food all over your beard again.  And please try to keep your gaseous smells to yourself whilst we eat.  I'm far from what used to be home, and I have friends and family missing.  I do not wish to be a pest, only to have the comforts of a dear friend.  I appreciate what you're doing in finding out what you can about Wreynn."  At that, Glimmer places a kiss on Taklinn's head and looks at Grishal to see if he will wash up as well.

Grishal takes the bowl of fresh water from the table and looks at it curiously.  "Grishal good," he says, "Grishal wash up and use shiney manners for pretty fairy."  Gently placing one hand in the basin to test the temperature, accepting that it wasn't too hot or too cold, he quickly plunges the other hand in and scrubs vigorously, splashing water everywhere.  Satisfied that his hands were thoroughly cleaned, he submerges his face into the dish and flails vigorously leaving very little water left in the dish.  Finally, taking the little water remaining in the dish, he pours the rest over his head and lets it run through his ragged black hair.

"Grishal clean!" he exclaims.  "Now Grishal all pretty, like fairy lady, and use shiny manners for eating."  Still confused by the customs and cultures of non goblins, but wanting to fit in and be a good citizen, Grishal climbs over the table and plants a giant kiss on Taklinn before taking a seat and ravenously digging into his meal.

Despite doing his best to try to eat with a fork and spoon, he still manages to get more of his food on his face then in his mouth, while leaving his new bib nearly pristine and spotless.

After the meal, Grishal plops down onto the dwarf's bed and sprawls out, taking up as much of it as possible.  "Skull man bad," Grishal begins.  "Skull man give all gobbos nightmares.  Skull man much much worse than dark man.  Dark man scary too."

The dwarf sputters and spits when the goblin plants a kiss on him, "Ye durned dolt!  Ye dont ever kiss me again, or I'm gonna split that big green head of yers like a melon!"  Red faced, he glares at Glimmer and finishes his meal in silence.  Just as he is about calmed down, Grishal plops down on his bed.  "I made the bed over there for you Grishal.  That is yer place to sleep while ye are me guest.  It ain't shiny manners to take yer host's bed lad, but I will look over yer breach of manners this ONE time."  Taklinn then grabs a stool and moves over to face Grishal, becoming serious and thinking of his line of questioning.  As Glimmer flits around cleaning up the mess from dinner, Taklinn questions the Goblin.  (OOP Questions sent via PM)
