Traveling

Glimmer can be seen exiting the gates of Jastrey, stopping for a moment at Haven's statue.  She lays a pouch of nuts and cookies at the statue's base and says "Just in case you get hungry while I'm gone Haven.  I'm off on business.  I'll see you again soon.  Well not you.  But I'll come talk when I get back."  Glimmer hoists her travel pack to her back and straps her bow neatly across her chest.  She walks until she is ought of sight and continues onward.

Akon is walking back to town from her work in the forest, hair plastered to her head from dried sweat, when she sees Gillmer departing. Frowning a moment, curious as to what this may be about, she walks up to the fae mid road before she's completely dissapeared. "Miss Glimmer?" Akon eyes over the fae curiously. "Is everything alright? If my eyes read correctly, it seems you've packed for quite a trip. You aren't leaving us are you? I realize at times we've had our differences of opinion, but I admit, I'd hate to see you go. Who else can I rely on for such quality nuts? And I dare say my Uordeq tongue has caught a liking to those cookies..." Akon offers a light hearted smirk in jest, but her tone hinted she was worried about the far and what may bring this sudden departure. "Are you and Taklinn alright? I know you were worried about him and that dwarf, but if I know Taklinn, I know he is anything but dishonest. Were there any man in town on who's word you could rely, it would be his."

"Oh no no no dear.  We are quite fine.  Taklinn knows I will defend myself and our relationship quite easily.  I  promised to aid another member of town and it is taking me away for a small journey.  I shall return within the next several weeks."  Glimmer reaches in her pouch and stuffs a pile of cookies in Akon's hands.  She turns to leave and then stops short.  "About what happened to you in the tavern the other night.  I've never really spoken my peace on it.  I respect youa s a town member and the aid you've given us all.  But the horns and tail worry me.  We don't all understand your 'sacrifice' if you will.  To most, it seems you've gained plenty by consuming the demon, no matter what it puts you through.  I, of all the people in town understand a sacrifice.  But be wary Akon.  It hurts to question someone just as much as it hurts to be questioned.  If there is ever an opportunity to help you if you decide you need it, I'll do what I can for you.  But like I said, it's the horns and tail.  To me, and maybe the rest of the fae, it's a bit like being the darkest part of yourself you can be.  I know you may not understand what I mean by that, but in time, I think you will."  Glimmer nods quietly and looks a bit conflicted, but continues on her way out of town.

Akon looks down at the cookies in her hand, and lets out a short sigh, with a half hearted smile, shaking her head at herself. "Ironic, isn't it master...?" She says to herself, looking up to the sky as she addresses the deceased. Akon's mind slips into her memory as she closes her eyes, standing alone on the roadway, recalling her master's words.

No one will mourn you or know exactly what has transpired. Something of you will live on, however, in this being. Perhaps, with luck, it will be the best of you....

Akon repeats her answer to no one but herself, quitely wrapping her fingers around the cookies in her palm. "It is...."

Akon then takes a deep breath, opening her eyes again, and setting her gaze evenly on the town, standing between the fallen trees in the wood for rebuilding, and the ruined tavern before her gaze down the road. She then tucks the cookies away walking back into Jastrey.

"It is."
