Tregard turns his body at the sound of his name. The movement makes him rotate quickly and then slowly. At the end of his 6th rotation, he stops in front of a giant squirrel. The rodent chitters and hands him a dog-sized chestnut. Tregard giggles as the nut grows a face and begins to talk in a shrill voice. "Don't eat me Mister, I'm just a nut so move your butt. " The man replies " I ain't gonna eat ya, I'm gonna smoke you." Flames appear around the nut and it screams. The squirrel chrips angrily and reaches for the nut. Tregard lunges for the nut crying out " No! My nut!"
Tregard grabs the huge nut and falls onto a glass surface. The nut shrieks "Mister, Mister, what it is, Mister. " Tregard shouts "Shut the Frack Up" and the nut's mouth dissappears. The bard surveys his surroundings. Dim light reflects off of slightly colored glass. Tregard steps forward 2 meters and founds his way blocked by glass. He retreats 4 meters and his butt hits glass. The man is surrounded by glass. Laughing, he sings I'm a genie in a bottle, baby / Come, come, come and let me out .
The jar shakes and Tregard stumbles into a glass wall. As if on cue, his environment becomes well-lighted. He gasps as he takes in the new horror. He is in a bottle held by himself. And this Tregard is in a bottle held by another Tregard. This is repeated twentyfold, as the Tregards are made aware of their situation. Tiny Tregard looks at the Tregard above as says "Don't you frackin' drop me!". Multiple voice relay the command.
"What will happen If I drop you", a new yet familiar voice mocks. The bottle tilts and the Tregards see their true captor. A face appears before the Tregards. A face hardened not by experiences of life, but by the cruelty that resides behind its stone-gray eyes. "Ah Mr. Maynard, still singing like a caged bird. Let's rectify that." And with a laugh, he drops the bottle.
{{OOG: sorry heather i should have waited for you to post. But i would be nice for people to post about what they see Tregard doing}}
Upon Tregard singing and bashing into the wall of the tavern, Wyndfere turns about and lunges for him grabbing Tregard's head to hold it still and preventing further injury. He looks to the others and calls out, "What is happening around here?! Are you all mad?!"
He looks into Tregard's eyes, glazed over and focused on something that obviously isn't in the room. "In the name of Lemesin, what is wrong with you, song-singer? No one's going to drop you. I've got you, wake up... WAKE UP!"
Wyndfere remains by Tregards side, "Someone! Anyone! Help!"
Wyndfere dashes away and grabs an empty pitcher from a nearby table and places it on the ground.
"In the name of the Black Hand..." [10 Ice]. A block of ice surrounds the mug, Then, Wyndfere waves in hand in a more gentle motion... [10 Fire]. And with that, the ice melts to water.
He grabs the cup of water and holds it out for Rhamada. "This should do."
Tregard continuously falls in a dark void. Pieces of glass cut him, causing him to scream. Falling and screaming. Screaming and bleeding. Bleeding and falling. Time stretches and explodes, leaving poor Tregard in a stark white room. Pieces of blood-stained glass twinkle on the floor. Tregard whimpers as he recognizes the room. The scattered glass begin to move, transforming into tiny figures.
Tregard shudders in terror as the features of the figures change into the familiar cruel face of Colonel Douglas. Their white alchemist frocks glean obscenely, as blood pools at their feet. In their left hands they hold an enormous bone saw, that smiles at the terrified man. Fragments of bone are lodged between its teeth. Grasped in the Douglas' right hands is a skull cap. Tregard's skullcap. The bard gasps as air touch his exposed brain. His eyes dart back and forth, searching for a timely escape. The colonels laughs at him. “ Oh, Rowan and his rebels do not exist here, specimen. Just the pursuit of science in the name of law and order.” The figures approach Tregard, merging together at each step.
An eight foot Colonel Douglas stops in front of Tregard. “Let's see what kind of man blasphemes the Eternal Lawgiver, Lord Ressick.” He shoves his arms, elbow deep, into the gray matter of Tregard. The conscious, yet unresponsive bard hears the Douglas' monotone voice “ Specimen X's hippo campus seems to be damaged, along with its' cerebellum. Removing said pieces now....
With a half-stifled scream, Tregard comes to his senses. His legs give way and he grabs the Ixifar for support. He falls uncermoniously on his arse, head slumped on his chest. When his breath and pulse return to normal, he rolls over to his side. After a few moments, Tregard tries to stand and fails. The effort causes him to retch and vomit.
"FRACKING IMMORTALS! WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!" he bellows. Silly Tregard, still commanding the Immortals, a voice quips.
"Tonight is not the night." growls Tregard. "Back to shadows, hitchhiker." The voice snickers and fades away. His second attempt at getting to his feet succeeds. He notices the two Ixifar and Glimmer and brushes vomit from his shirt.
"Ladies and gentleman, I hope you enjoyed this comedy..er..tragedy. Alas, there will be no encore. Thank you for coming out and remember to tip your dwarven bartender." Tregard manages a shaky bow.
As Tregard comes to his senses and notices his surroundings, Wyndfere's face grows dumbfounded and remains that way until Tregard bows.
"I'm not sure if this artist is acting or if he really is sick in the head. If it is the same as Fancy's sickness from The Astral, then Tregard, I fear that you must never dream again for fear of getting lost forever in your own mind. But if you were acting, then bravo, but might I add, I enjoy gruesome battles between witches and princes and happy endings. Perhaps next time."
Then he looks to Glimmer and Rhadama, "I've never seen anything quite like this. Do you think it would be wise to take these hallucinating folk to a place where we can care for them?"
Tregard gives the healer a tight wan smile. He pats her arm, weakly and says "I think I need to be alone for a while. Maybe walk this off. Thank you for your concern, but I shan't be a bother."
The bard gives another half bow to the avians and strides off. With back straight and head high, the man projects the air of calmness. Inside him, however, chaos reigns. When Tregard determines he is far enough from the others he pulls a dagger from his belt. "Time to end the nightmares" he whispers. He dissapears into the dark towards the army encampment.
Glimmer listens to Tregard's conversation with whomever he thinks he's speaking to and then says "Um Tregard, dear. I'm Glimmer. And while I do love nuts and would be happy to help you keep your...erm...nut, there's no one here but you and I. But I did want to give you this. At that, Glimmer pulls a large glass jar from behind her back. It appears to be a jar normally used for canning supplies. The lid holds an exquisite ribbon made of flowers, vines, and candies. The contents appear to be small, candy shaped droplets. "It's my poo. You said you needed it, so I figured I'd dress it up for you. I do hope you find what you're looking for, however." Glimmer offers the jar to Tregard.
