The Uncertain Future of Drux Drakethorn

Kirell enters the tavern with the seemingly lifeless body of Drux over his shoulder.

Garith, Garith

"Lookie what I found."

“I think it asked for a gift."
" I felt it when I was spreading the GOOD word."
"Astrum & I thought that you might want to be involved."
" The Warlock wanted it for her own, but I thought we could use it and pay a little debt in the process.”
"I don't think all hope is lost".

The Angori drops Drux unceremoniously onto the floor and begins to expound.

“Being is changing; that which does not change ceases to be. Embrace transformation as the greatest truth of existence and cast aside the gross distinctions of form.”

Astrum enters with Kirell and stands by quietly, watching the procession.  He tugs his ear twice and does a small dance at the sound of Kirell's preaching.

When Drux lands on the floor more hair falls off his body leaving him nearly bald, his skin moves as if it is no long part of his body and upon closer inspection it seems to have a somewhat translucency to it. When Kirell beings his sermon Drux begins to tremor.

Glimmer peers up from her tea and beholds the sight before her.  "BY THE WINGS I SAY!" It is rather RUDE to just waltz in and plop a bodie's body on the floor.  Dear me, moons and stars what on earth?  WHY IT'S DRUX!  Oh my goodness.  Oh my dear.  Oh my dearie dear.  Kirell!  What in HEAVENS are you doing with that blubbering?"  Glimmer runs to the body and begins surrounding Drux with various herbs and flowers.  "Goodbye old friend.  May you dance lightly in the heavens with our friends of long ago."  Glimmer begins whaling in a treacherous moan, almost forgetting herself for a moment.  She then gathers her emotion, and her tea, and waves at Kirell to carry on.

Astrum's dance is cut short by Glimmer's cries.  He squints his eyes and covers his ears.

"I say Glimmer, easy on the ears."

Aaaand in followed a rather grumpy looking warlock, close on the heels of the rather odd crowd of a mindmuddled wizard, an angori of questionable sanity, and the herself. Mumbling she responded. "I sware if you harm him, you'll have another damn debt to pay." She hissed, clearly unhappy with the current events taking place. "What debt is this you speak of?" She questioned, right behind them.

"HOLD ON I THINK I'VE DONE IT!"
Then with a loud bang the whole tavern shakes slightly and thick black smoke pours across the floor.
"SORRY!" Garith comes stumbling out of the smoke covered in soot muttering to himself, "So close. How did that old dirt bag do it? Hmmm ill just have to replace the Angori horn with dragon blood and maybe that'll do it." He looks around at the now soot covered floor, "I'll clean that up."
"Now what happened that can make Glimmer hurt my ears more than a bomb going off?"
He looks down at Drux's body and raises one eyebrow. "What happened to this one? Looks like hes gone and jumped in acid."

Astrum Grins and gestures to Drux.

"We're gonna' throw him off the tower to try to resuscitate him!  Don't worry, I've been in this EXACT situation at least three times."

Looking all the more perturbed. "I hightly resent that idea, Astrum....." She remarks, working her way towards the bald form. "I don't think he's in the position to teleport eh? Regardless, what is this debt hmm? What payment does it require..."

Astrum raises an eyebrow.

"Of course he isn't in a position to teleport!  That's why he needs some blunt force trauma therapy!"

"O ya it helped fix that evil sorcerer a few months back. Go have fun, but......"
Garith pauses and makes sure Astrum is looking at him.
"Make sure he doesn't damage the wall! Or get eaten! Or touch anything! He looks drippy and nasty and you know how I hate a mess where I sleep. If this doesn't work for whatever reason, just put him on the cot on the second floor and I'll take a look at him some time soon, once he stops shaking."
With that Garith walks back to his soot covered corner. "Now where did I put that dragon blood? Hmmmmmm maybe under the couch. No thats right its in the woods under that tree. Or was it the other one?"
Garith then walks out of the tavern mumbling to himself in half broken speech headed toward the forest.

Akon stands there looking flatly dumbfounded. "What in the Pit did you all get in your damned drinks?" She questions, wondering if there was any hope of sanity within the tavern walls at the moment. "Throwing him off a tower, then looking at the body later? Are you all mad?" She says, slipping around the large Angori to get to Drux's side.

Astrum grins.

"Well sure!  I've done it before, with good results too!"

Astrum proceeds to poke Drux with his staff.

"Besides, what's the worst that could happen?"

Akon thinks a moment, then looks at them all. 'You know. You're right. Let's get to it then shall we? What are we waiting for? Hmm?"

Astrum claps his hands gleefully and nudges the warlock.

"Now you're getting it!  You might be enlightened yet!"

He then touches Drux's decaying body and it floats up slightly in the air.  Astrum follows in the air, guiding the body out of the tavern and towards the top of the tower until he touches down on the roof.

"Ok, someone be ready to check for breathing!"

Astrum yells down at the others.

Akon follows along. "Be right there then."

She then shows up a few moments later, looking up at him from below, a very large bag behind her. "Alright. I'll clean up the mess or check then! Ready when you are!" She hollers up, peering up at him from below. "Toss away!"

Astrum adopts a stance with his hands crossed behind his back.

"Now lady warlock!  For my technique to work, he must be dropped a total of three times, if you interfere with the body before the third time, then all will be lost.  Do you understand?"

Akon nods. "Yes, thrice, not two, not five, thrice. Got it. Ready when you are, sir wizard!"

Astrum leans back, dissappearing from view.

"very well!  Prepare yourself!  hhhhUNPH!"

Astrum reappears heaving Drux's body over the edge of the tower.  On the way down, an arm gets caught in a window spinning Drux around before his body proceeds to land with a sharp crunch.  Astrum giggles and floats down, repeating the process twice more.

After the third time, Astrum yells down towards Drux's mangled body.

"Hey Drux!  You alright?  Warlock!  Check for breathing!"

Akon then leans down, pressing a sensative ear to his chest. "Mnphn...." She looks up. "Nope! Dead. Alas. Ah well...new toys for me." She says, shrugging, and throwing the burlap sack over the body. "Thank you, Astrum!" She then rather pleansantly drug the supposedly new corpse towards her private quarters with a smug grin on her face, hand clapsed around the bag and the corpse's own hand protruding from the sack. (Secret stabalize! Muaha).

As Drux hits the ground his trashing getts worse. He begins to murmer, "Conflict dwells within us all..." Drux hits the ground again and the shouting gets worse,  "...and with each breath, we cast it out into the world. Embrace it." Drux hits the ground yet another time and is almost screaming at this point, "Allow your struggles to define you, and you will grow strong. Shrink from these struggles in fear, and you invite your own doom. Only by facing yourself can you learn who you truly are." Drux's spasms are worse than ever and he keep repeating the last line of his speach, "Only by facing yourself can you learn who you truly are."

With each spasm, Astrum's face brightens considerably.

"I knew it would work!  And you all doubted me."  He shouted at the crowd

Astrum dances around the top of the tower then flips off casually floating to the ground.

"Hey Drux, you awake yet?  I cured ya!"

"FABULOUS!!!!"

Kirell shouts from his position at the edge of the tower as Drux begins to speak.

"We have been given instructions, I know just what to do now."

As he emerges from the tower, sprinting toward the Bag-O-Drux that Akon has in tow, the overly enthusiast Angori is shouting.

"Conflict dwells within us all, and with each breath, we cast it out into the world. Embrace it. Allow your struggles to define you, and you will grow strong. Shrink from these struggles in fear, and you invite your own doom. Only by facing yourself can you learn who you truly are."

"We have to take him to the Cave outside of town. I've Been there before..well... not I... well...yes...I but it was...i was..  ...  .. Different. It's OK the monks are gone now I'm fairly certain."

"Anyway follow me if you please. This will be fun. Well not fun for him, but interesting to watch anyway."

Kirell says as he grabs hold of Drux's hand and snatches him from the Warlock.

Akon's red eyes flare dangerously a moment, dropping the easy going facade, as Drux is yet again yanked from her grasp. 'In Drathenix's name, please tell me what you are doing... In his last sentient moment, he charged me with protecting him, and I am damn well going to. Explain to me what exactly you are planning, or I so sware that if any harm comes to him by your hand, so shall it be returned unto you by mine." She grumbled, following along behind the Angori.

Hey guys, it's Heather.  I need to step in here for Drux, as per his request.  Claire, this is his post about his tansformation into a different race.  He and Ashley have worked out the details together.  You do not have posession of his body.  He did not have a chance to reply what actually happened to his body or his character before you said he was dead and bagged him up to head to your cabin.  He asked me to step in if the post continued, so as per his request, the forum post resumes where he said he was screaming through spasms the third time Astrum threw him from the tower.  Ashley now has posession of his body and will continue to do so.  Just clarification purposes so everyone understands what's actually happening.  Resume where Ashley has posession of Drux's body at the base of the tower.  Drux, I hope that helped.

(Yeppers, I never actually fully claimed that he was dead, Akon just lied about it (hense the stabalize) to get Drux away from the crazies throwing him off the tower, as Drux had also talked to me privately about being unsure about letting his body get into the hands of Kirell. But Ashely was great and chatted with me and he told me what Drux desired out of the plot, so we are all on the same page now. Akon is just being defensive as Drux had charged her to protect him. There was some confusion about what Drux wanted, but it's all clear now. Only desire is to have Drux get what Drux wants out of his plot. Posted edited! It's all good :) Thanks Heather!)

Kirell pauses momentarily, looking around confused, as if he heard something.

"What hex is this you put on me WITCH?"
"I hear the gods speaking nonsense in my head."
"Oh well, not so unusual, I guess!"
"Happens all the time to you, isn't that right Astrum."

Kirell turns toward the Alter of Drathenix that was the scene of his confirmation that is so fresh in his mind.

"Conflict dwells within us all, and with each breath, we cast it out into the world. Embrace it."

As he lopes off through the woods.

Akon sighs, having given up hope trying to reason with either of them, and instead chooses to follow along hugging the shadows where she could. She watches carefully, keeping close enough to hear or see what they might be saying or doing, but keeps a relative distance, her focus on Drux.
