Under the Moonlight

The Empyrean Silver Dragoran lay in a field of grass outside of town near the farm.  Moonligh lit the night, and she was silent basking in its wonders.  She gazed at the stars, at the forces beyond the darkness.  It had been so long since she had time to meditate with the moon and the stars.  Now that the Captain Belle had given up all ties to his place of birth and accepted Jastery as his Home, Silver knew that she must get comfortable with Jastery and its citizens.  They would be here for some time, it seems.  She thought on what might come of the Crimson Corsairs in Jastery.  It was hard to be the voice of reason to Captain Belle in the first place, let alone be it in a land locked town with a seemingly endless supply of rum.

Silver looked into the glowing light of the circilar full moon, clearing her mind of troubled thoughts.  Now was a time for quiet reflection.  A time to bask in the energies of life and simply 'being'.

It was a long while before a dark figure could be seen making its way with quick pace through the trees skirting the field within which the Empyrean lay. Who or what it was wouldn't be entirely clear but, on second glance, the robes that trailed the woman's step were charistically that of Akon's. Her hand was on the hilt of her blade, clenched over it, her stride hurried and definitive. There was certainly a hint of either anger or haste about the woman's movements, which usually were much more calm and quite.

Silver's ears picked up the faint rustle of someone hurridly moving at the edge of the trees.  She tore her gaze away from the sky and looked for the source that had come upon her meditaion.  A darkly clad figure was moving in the tree line, and Silver was unsure whether it could be friend or foe.  Standing, Silver grabbed the hem of her skirt in one hand for easier movement.  She warily crossed the field to the source of the noise.

Akon was scarely a black blur, hard to see through the woods, but she wasn't at all trying to be quiet as she moved deeper into them.

Silver couldn't make out just what was making the noise, but could hear it moving deeper into the woods.  She was unsure whether to follow it into the darkness of the forest, there being no one else around.  She double checked the condition of her swords and began to follow the sound deeper into the woods.  She was a singer, not much of a fighter, but if it came to blows she would hold as best she could.

The figure didn't stop in its stride for a moment, the path its steps carved seeming very definite. The blackclad figure still seemed to blend into the trees, coming in and out of sight, though she walked in a straight line. It was merely that she was moving swiftly in the darkness, and the trees loomed thickly about the two as they contined the game of cat and mouse.

Silver quickened her pace after the figure.  It seemed to be in a hurry to get some place, being quite sure of its path through the darkness.  Silver began to approach from behind.  She kept her eyes on the figure, lest she loose it in the shroud of darkness of the shadows of trees.

It wasn't too much longer afterwards that the treeline broke, and a small, more distant lake than usual was found sitting nestled in the depths of the forest. The black clad figure then began pacing the shoreline, fist clenched and held to her forhead, hood drawn so none of her face could be seen, other hand held wrapped around her chest, racked in thought.

Silver stopped at the treeline, watching the figure pace.  With the moonlight being reflected on teh water and no longer being obscured by the shadows of the trees, she knew there was something familiar about it.  Silver slowly and warily approached from the tree line.

Akon's sharp eyes flashed towards the woman approaching her, a burning, bright red in the darkness. Her visage was stern, her statement short, but it wasn't entirely unkind, moreso reclusive and distracted. "Did you need something..."

Silver stopped, recognizing Akon.  "No, I am not in need of anything.  Are you however? You seem troubled this night."  Silver released her skirt and let it swirl about her legs, feeling a little more at ease knowing that it was not a foe that she followed.

Delvin had been stalking his usual late night patrol as he heard the rustle of huried feet in the distance, quickly he'd dip behind a tree to watch unseen. He quirked a brow as he witnessed what appeared to be Akon on the march followed by the Empyrean. He remained silent as they passed, moving only after they had gone by to bring up the rear. As they walked into the clearing he'd stop at the treeline and watch with that sardonic grin that usually remained plastered across his features. For now he was quiet, though a slight nod would be offered to either of them if they bothered to look his way.

The moon was particularly bright this night as it reflected off the watery shallows of the lakeside shoreline. For reasons unknown, perhaps even to Blisdon himself- he found his mind and body wandering aimlessly as he gazed around at the stars, his large uordeq eyes reflecting back the  moon within them as he walked step after step, not particularly stumbling, nor walking in a straight line but merely moving freely like the water that lapped against the sandy shores.

He gave a cheerful grin and a warm nod to the new elven scout as he continued his way to the Warlock and the Empyrean, stiffening up his walk as he did so to something more straight, normal, and socially acceptable.

"It's a strange thing that the moon is." Mumbled the shaman as he got closer to the two by the shore. "It can become so bright, yet it's light gives us no warmth. There's something to be said for such a cold radiance."

A bright golden-brown gaze landed on the trio made up of an Empyrean and two Uordeq, before drifting to the elf she passed by in the tree line. The lithe spotted feline had padded past the elf without uttering a sound, head down and tail low even as it twitched from side to side. Sniffing the air when she passed into the clearing, however, her head lifted and she turned back long enough to dip her head at him. She reached the group and sat down, tail over paws, next to the Empyrean woman with a soft mrow. Annaleigh eyed the Uordeq with a touch of mistrust, but remained in her animal form as she had been since she left Ohren's side.

Silver turned towards the shaman as he approached.  "It is quite radiant indeed.  But I find much spirtual warmth in the cold light.  The moons phases seem at times to be one of the few certanties in this broken world."  The Empyrean looked down at her side as the feline sat and made a sound.  She spared a gentle smile as she reaches down and gently strokes its fur.

Behind Devlin the light steps of paws could be heard among the brush and grass. Atasatch, in his canine form could be seen following close behind the new scout. Atasatch's eye's drifted towards the moon. A great uplifting feeling began to wash over the wolf's midnight fur as the intense white of the moon was reflected in his eyes.

Annaleigh purred slightly when the Empyrean stroked her fur. However, she stopped and turned her head as her delicate cat ears picked up the sound of pawsteps. In the light of the moon she could see clearly the form of a wolf not far behind Delvin. She flicked an ear curiously, wondering if this wolf might be a Druid as well. Her attention went back to the trio she sat near after a moment, though one ear remained swiveled to listen for the wolf and the elf.

Akon's burning gaze stayed on the Empyrean until the others began gathering around them. The red of her eyes burned brighter, sizzling against the black of her sockets as she looked away again. The woman's frame was stiff, and tense, burning eyes closing as she turned with her back to the lot of them still, arms folded over chest as she faced the lakeside.

Silver moved closer to Akon near the lake side, trailing a hand in case the cat wanted to follow.  She cast Blisdon a calm smile, then looked over the dark reflections of the water.  She glanced at the woman beside her, but kept silent.  Akon would speak on her own terms.  The Empyrean raised her dark eyes to the moon, once more basking in its wonder.

Akon did not reply, but seemed quite on edge, remaining just as she was, shoulders stiff as a board.

"Well. So much for some peace and quiet," Chataya says with a laugh as she stands up from the stump she was sitting on down the shore in the tree line. She approaches the group with a nod at everyone. Noticing the warlock's burning eyes. She quirks an eyebrow at her friend. "What's going on, Akon?"

"Things." Akon replied shortly, not bothering to move her crossed arms, nor open her eyes.

Chataya laughs a little at the Warlock's answer, attempting to lighten her mood. "Okay, Miss Nivarian. You'll tell us what's going on if you want to." She turns and looks around, noticing the feline. She smiles and says hello to the unfamiliar creature and looks around for a spot to sit. Seeing none readily available, she just plops down on the shore next to the cat and looks around.

Annaleigh's eyes narrow on Akon's short reply before she dips her head to the Ixifar in response to the greeting, curling her tail over paws. She then returned her gaze to the Uordeq, noting the woman's stiff posture. She let out a noise somewhere between a meow and a sigh and flicked her other ear- still keeping the one in the direction of Delvin and the strange wolf.  After a moment, though, she grew more comfortable as she took in the light of the moon.

In an instant the leopard-patterned golden cat was replaced by a tiny Angori in a long, black skirt and a bright purple shirt, and leaning back on her hands on the shore line. When she spoke her voice held mild sarcasm, but no mocking or malice, "An Uordeq in a bad mood... How shocking. Good evening, Miss Nivarian. I don't believe I've met the rest of you, except for maybe Delvin lurking in the treeline back there. Never the less, Good evening to you all the same."

The Empyrean Silver looked to where the little Angori woman sat, where only moments before there had been the feline.  So, another Druid in Jastery.  This was quite an interesting town indeed.  The cold light of the moon enveloped the scene, and Silver looked about at the sudden new arrivals, then a slight glance at the tree line where Delvin was revealed to be watching.  She gave a wry grin at the little woman's comments.  "Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Sivler Dragoran, of the crew of the Pirates the Crimson Corsairs."

The wolf stepped up to the Empyrean his large head level with the her waist line. he sat on his haunches and wimpered slightly. The moons radiant light seemed to add a silver shean to the wolf's coat. his talk wagging happily back and forth.

Silver looked fondly down at the wolf.  It was good to see other beings that respected the lunar cycles as well.  Perhaps another Druid?  It wouldn't be surprising in Jastery.  She patted the great beast head, one hand slowly and gently stroking his fur.  "Hello there friend.  It is a fine moon tonight.  Well to recieve it with fine company."

The wolf bowed his head as a black and silver mist surrounded the wolf and in it's place stood a rather tall elf clad in black.  The same silver schean was still present. "Greetings I am Atasatch, the resident werewolf of Jastrey. Do not be afraid I don't bite. Sometimes." Atasatch bowed lightly

Silver looked on as the wolf turned into an elf.  So, there was a werewolf in town.  Quite interesting indeed.  "Well met Atasatch.  I am Silver Dragoran."  Silver offered a small curtsey with her dark skirt, and an incline of her silvery hair.  "So I was right in having a fellow who respects the stars this night."

The small Angori nodded. Her gaze then turned to the wolf, studying the large creature closely. Perhaps another druid, as she had pondered before. She wasn't sure about weres, but she had heard they weren't supposed to be so friendly during the moon phases that turned them. Then again it could just be a tame wolf... though she had her doubts. Just as she let the thought wonder the wolf became a man and her question was answered. Atasatch was a were. She turned her gaze to the moon finally giving her introduction, "Annaleigh, of the Telamon Druid Enclave."

"As far as werewolves go I am the only one on this shard that I know of, and do not worry about me turning on you. Those days are long gone. The moon simply invigorates me. Its shallow light almost creates a new world but many fear the moon for what lurks beneath it. Creatures like me. They only fear that which is stronger than them, and so they shun the moon." Atasatch looks back and forth between the two new figures standing in front of him he looks to the angori. He gave her an odd puzzling look. "i thought I smell feline"

"That, my good wolf, would be me." Annaleigh replied to Atasatch. A small grin crossed her features.  Her gaze stayed on the moon, basking in it's cool glow. "My animal form is a Bengal Cat. It is nice to meet you Atasatch. If you didn't catch it, My name is Annaleigh."

"My hearing is just as good as my sense of smell if not better. I did catch your name but thank you for the consideration." Atasatch turns as if to address both of the figures in front of him. "so what brings both of you to Orn?"

Silver gave thought to the new additions to the lake side.  Indeed, Jastery was an interesting place.  "It is nice to see a place where the citizens are so diverse.  I never expected to find a place such as this on my travels."  The Empyrean woman looked up to the silver disc in the sky.  "The moon certainly invogorates me as well, Atasatch.  It truly is a marvel.  I come to Jastery seeking news of my father.  I know not his name, simply that he is a dragon.  I hope to meet him.  He is the only family I have in this world."

Atasatch looked slightly dissapointed. "i wish I could help you but sadley I have been absent for quite sometime. I know nothing of dragons here in jastrey I wasnt even aware they were taking up residence." Atasatch thought for a while. Dragons? Here in Jastrey, walking among us. How fascinating.

"Following my instincts, looking for a place that needs help being protected. The care of the land is my mission and it seems my instincts have brought me to the right place, from what I hear." Annaleigh replied after a moment. She stretched out, flopping back on the grass and gazed at the moon and stars. From the corner of her eye, she watched Silver, wondering at the Empyrean's story. A dragon father... How very interesting indeed...

Silver let out a sigh.  "I had at least hoped to find information here.  My search is why I joined the pirates the Crimson Corsairs.  I know not of his location.  He was never even at the side of my human mother for my birth and her death.  I hope no ill has come of him."

Delvin gave a fascinated whistle as he walked towards the group, eyes cast up towards all the Steves and the brightest Bob of the Mestrun thus far. He'd make his way towards the small gathering of people, wandering in a zig zag pattern towards them until he'd plop his rump firmly 'pon the ground, a wet squishing sound was made as his arse slipped into the mud. Eyes narrowed and he made that, "I'm a dumdum" face before casting a grin to those that seemed friendly enough to be grinned at. "We being doomy gloomy again ladies and gents?" he'd ask. He'd of course returned the greetings that Blisdon and others had offered him upon their arrival.

He slipped back, resting on his arms and gazing up towards the sky. "Aye, things are afoot, constantly" he snickered, "We're a town full of people pulled together by the strings of fate, do you honestly think we'll ever see a moment of peace" He cast a glance over all of those attending the little group. "Quite honestly I wouldn't know what do with peace if it was offered, I'm sure I'd find some form of trouble if left to my own devices. It's better for me to have a more positive goal, promise", He continued to just stare at the Bob, it's light reflecting brilliantly in those azure eyes of his. "So Akon, these things that are happening, are they omens of doom?"

Akon's burning eyes flash open again, staring at the lake with intensity over her folded arms. "You ask as if such occurrences are a rarity here in Jastrey. I assure you, they aren't. Jastrey is damned with a plague of disaster. It is an important place amongst our existence, and is an epicenter of our planes. Such a place is fated to be pitted with turmoil. And so it shall remain. Anyone who can gaze into the void and keep thier sanity can catch glimpses of Jastrey's importance. It is because of this fated existence that I am here."

Annaleigh sat up once more as Akon spoke, wrapping her arms around her knees. She raised an eyebrow at the Uordeqi woman. Irritation seemed to come off her in waves, as the Angori watched red eyes flash. She could not suppress a chuckle, thoroughly amused at Akon's choice of words.

"No one, can I think of, could use such pretty words, inspite of obvious irritation, to speak of disaster, damnation and fate in the same breath. You must be a politician. That, or a writer." The smaller woman rose, dusting off her skirt and straightening out her shirt. The Elves had educated her well, and the Angori was relatively sure of her words.

Delvin would outright snicker at Akon as she spoke of doom and gloom, "Always darkness and impending destruction with you"  that wild grin of his carved it's self across his features. "Sometimes you just have to relax and bask in the glory of what is without worrying about what will be". Azure blues were once more cast towards the sky, hypocritcal thoughts of home filling his head as he inhaled the crisp night air. He exhaled with a soft sigh.

"You're right though" He'd admit with just a hint of begrudging tone, "Jastrey is the site of something of epic proportions, and fate has strung us all here for a reason" he snickered, "The weavers seem to be bringing the heartiest, wiliest, most reckless, and overall insane folk I've ever met together here in this town, I imagine it's to defend whatever it's built over" He gave a little shrug, "just speculation though, I've not been here long enough to really know how things work"

"Its my damn job to worry about what will be.....I am -here- because of what will be..." Hissed the warlock, clearly not amused, a darkness now visably radiating from her form as her tone became more terse.

Delvin clucked his tongue slightly, "Such stress isn't healthy, and when the shit decides to rain down we'd be best to have you in top shape, don't ch'ya think?" he tilted his head ever slightly, his tone held sincerity. "I understand though, but as for me, I'm going to be happy until the inevitible walks in and pokes me in the eye" that grin of his was present once more. "Levity shouldn't be so scarce, It would do you good to smile, the weight of the shard doesn't have to rest on your shoulders alone, there are enough us to beat down most baddies that wander our way"

"Well then." Chataya says, standing with an annoyed huff. "When you guys are done heckling the town warlock, whoever you are," she says, adresses the newcomers with disdain, "maybe we can find out what the problem truly is." She gives Delvin a small glare, and then lifts her eyes to Akon. "And if she doesn't want to share what's on her mind, then perhaps we should let her be, or let her take her leave of us."

Annaleigh whipped around to face the Ixifar, eyes sharp with the tiniest glint of fear, "Warlock?"

The Angori woman did not wait for an answer. She had met a warlock- a pair of them actually- in her travels, though she hadn't been quite as old and clearly training with a master, the expirence had not been pleasant. The shard of Sirison that had housed the Shadelands had not been kind to her. With a strangled hiss, she managed to get out the words that triggered her transformation- "The.. Bengal guides my every step!~ [wildform]"- before hauling tail away from the lake shore as fast as her paws could carry her. She needed to be alone and think. A warlock in town and the people apparently knew it... It seemed more than the Angori citizens were mad.

Gaius flies by overhead, only pausing briefly to wave at the people gathered below. Then he continues on towards his destination.

Silver watches with a wary eye the events that unfold at the lake side.  Akon seemed to be in a dark temperment this evening, and the little Angori apparently thought is best to flee for some reason.  Silver turned to Delvin.  "Levity can indeed be a grand thing, yet soleminity has its due as well.  As long as we are not swept away by either, we may ballance our lives to the good and the bad.  Which can be an important thing in a town such as Jastery, if events here are as you say."  The Empyrean woman crouched down to the waters edge and picked up a smooth stone.  "We must let events roll over us like the water, yet stay grounded like the rocks.  Then perhaps we can achieve some smothness and sense of well being."  She looks to the stars before setting the smooth stone back into the dark water.

Akon presses her fingers to the bridge of her nose, other arm still crossed over her chest as she takes a deep breath. The woman indeed looked irritated...but it was something more. The stiffness in her shoulders hinted at more than just mental annoyance as she took silent pause at all the chatter around her. Her free fist clenched, and her brow furrowed deeper.

The Empyrean stood, her dark eyes catching the moonlight as she looked at Akon.  She slowly walked closer, but stopped at a distance.  Siver spoke low, for Akon's ears alone.  "What troubles you this night my friend?"  Her face showed concern, as she was a sincere person to her core.

"Explaining would be an unpleasant experience for you....." Akon mumbles, rubbing the bridge of her nose as if easing away a headache.

Silver looked on, the concern still painted across her face.  "If you deem me not worthy to be told, then so be it.  It just seems to be paining you quite terribly.  I hate to let a friend suffer alone."

"It is meant to be suffered alone..and it's not that I deam you not worthy to be told, but it is something that is felt not told...enough. It's not to be bothered about." Akon brushed the statement away, her nose curling in disgust, still annoyed, but it was more an internal annoyance rather than at anyone in particular.

Silver put on a light smile, but it did not touch her eyes.  She knew well the feeling of suffering in silence.  "I hope you are well and find peace in the matter, Akon.  If not, I at least wish you well here in Jastery."  She spared a glance for the others before turning to the moon once again.  "All in Jastery deserve peace at some point or another.  And tonight is quite the beautiful night to bask in."

Delvin cast that broad smile of his towards Chataya despite her scornful words, "Have we not met!?" he slipped his agile form up from the ground to walk around Chataya, eyeing her curiously whilst tapping at his chin and tugging at the tuft of his beard,  "My intention wasn't to annoy miss Akon, simply to lighten her load with a little levity" He maintained his grin as he stopped dead infront of her, arms laced behind his back and leaning towards her, near face to face, "I'm Delvin, a pleasure to meet you" he chuckled a bit as he met her eye, "I do believe you picked my lazy arse up off the dirt a time or two, and for that I thank you!" he shrugged his shoulders as he straightened himself back up, posturing his sillhouette against the brilliant oversized moon and just looking generally epic with his crazy ridge of hair.

He'd lean in once more with a chuckle, "I mean no offense, it's simply not in my nature to be doom and gloom no matter the situation, stern is boring, and things can sometimes be conquered with a positive outlook" he snickered, ever the optimist.

"There is nothing peaceful or positive about damnation burning in your chest!" Akon snapped, waves of darkness radiating from her as she scowled deeply, annoyance searing her words. "It's not that simple." She snarled and with her words and a finall activated huff the warlock's form fell away into layers of shadow and smoke, diss appearing from site with the heavy smell of brimestone left in her wake. On the other side of the lake, the warlock could be seen appearing in the same cloud of smoke, walking away from the group deeper into the woods with slow step.

A large splash can be heard down the shoreline from where the rest of the group is gathered.  Loud splashing and cursing can be heard as a dwarf quickly scrambles to get out of the water he has obviously fallen in.  As he gathers his bucket he was filling, the smell of brimstone reaches his nostrils and his head turns towards the group, then back to the other side of the lake to see the Warlock dissappear into the woods.  With a smile on his face he continues his work and begins to gather his things.

Silver looks startled and a little hurt by the harsh words and the sudden dissaperance.  She looks around, and faintly sees Akon reappear on the other side of the lake in the moonlight.  She would have liked to help her in some way, even to lighten her spirits, but that seemed to be quite unwanted tonight.

The Empyrean looked sadly at the vastness of the sky as she stepped closer to Delvin.  "It appears not everyone in Jastery appreciates a positive outlook.  There is much harshness in this lawless town.  I wish I could help... But I seem to only have made things worse.   I seem to not be as used to the nuances of life outside the caravans as I had thought."  She stopped and looked over the overzealous elf.  "It is good that you try, but mayhaps you should deliver with a bit more finess."

Taklinn, walking to the path says gruffly as he passes, "Bah ye aint never gonna lighten that one's burdens.  Always puttin' the weight of the world on herself, so she can regale ye with how she is doin' it all fer ye.  Yep some say that ye give people that make bad decisions constantly another chance, but I say cut yer losses and expect 'em to mess things up good and proper.  'Course I don't know what its like ta have the world revolvin' around me, I'm just a dwarf who dont see meself as the epicenter of the universe, so I don't know nothin' bout things like that." he finishes with a smile.  "'Course it could all be a ploy ta be able to do yer evil in front of everyones eyes as well.  Ye can be sure that ain't nobody that unlucky, she is clever as a fox, an' town backs her and forgives her everytime, Hows that fer luck!"  he laughs incredulously as he walks away from the newcomers and starts to carry his bucket back up the trail towards town.

Chataya smiles at Delvin, acknowledging his greeting. "I did indeed save you quite a bit. We'll just say you owe me." she said with a giggle.

She watches Akon teleport across the lake with a shake of her head. She listens as Taklinn talks, and as he walks away says "The dwarf is right. The resident warlock and I have only just begun to see eye-to-eye, so a mest ago, I would have been saying the same thing, only in angry mutters." She laughs. "Now, though, I say it to Akon herself, and we can get along, even though I consider much of what Taklinn says to be true. She does take weight on her own shoulders voluntarily, then tells you she did. But, I can work with her. So take her as you see her." She walks to the water's edge and takes a look at the ripples. "Whatever it is, you'll find out eventually. If she wanted comfort, she'd take it. But she never will." She remains standing still, staring at the water.

Lia adjusts her hood passively while her other hand brushed the two small metal pieces that hung on the string about her neck. She sat perched up on a high tree branch just barely within ear shot of the small gathering at the lake's edge, but far enough away to be hidden within the shadows. The Ixifar woman watched them causually, noting various things about each individual, and silently thanking the stars that she hadn't had the warlock's bad fortune of becoming the center of attention in the midst of a bad mood. 'Tch, all the more reason to get away from this crazy place.' She thought to herself and set her jaw.

Lia turned her blue eyes up towards the moon's reflection over the water. She noted, just barely the warlock's dark figure disappearing into the trees and sighed. The water elf, Valez had shown her this place seeming to understand her deep yearns for home. Not that such a large body of water should remind her of the ever shifting sands of Sirison, but in an odd way it did. Her hand clutched tightly around her necklace. Her eyes shut. A wave of tense emotion rippled through the pit of her stomach. "I'll find you. I swear it." She breathed.

Lia opened her eyes and set herself in motion. Leaning up into a crouch, the Ixifar reached to the trunk of the tree. With careful, quiet movements she lowered herself off her branch down to the next one. She may not have been around many trees in her life, but that didn't keep her from becoming a deft climber in her own right. However, what she couldn't have foreseen was the branch that gave out, snapping under her weight about halfway down. The Ixifar gasped and fell without a cry to the hard ground below. She landed on her side with a grunt, and was left to jarred to move. A painfilled groan slipped out as she tried pulling her arm out from under her.

Taklinn, upon hearing the ruckus of the Ixifar falling, turns about to face the foe in the shadows.  Dropping the bucket he is carrying and whirling around in a burst of motion, he draws his axe and readies his shield, ready to meet the foe.  "Where are ye sneakster?  Yer game is up and I know yer out there, so come an' introduce yer head to me axe!" he shouts into the dark woods in the direction he heard the noise.  After a few seconds with no answer he looks down to his wet boots and spilled bucket and then peers out into the woods.  Grumbling, he trudges in the woods towards the sound of his perceived attacker and begins searching for the person he will take his anger out upon.

Lia continued to try and shift about to get back up to her feet. She heard Taklinn's angry calls and easily distinguished his husky dwarven voice. "Ugh...Tak-Taklinn? That's your name right?..." She coughed, getting air back into her lungs. "It's just me, Lia....the uh, Ixifar you helped." After struggling a bit more, she managed to prop herself up with her good arm. A few more coughes echoed forth from her person.

Taklinn, upon hearing his name walks cautiously over to the sound of the injured Ixifar's voice.  "Aye lass, the name is Taklinn." he says as he puts away his axe and calls over his shoulder to the other people at the lakeside "Chataya, I believe she is gonna be needin' a healer."  He offers a hand to the Ixifar and says "Sorry, I'm better at breakin' bones than healin' them.  What in Githal's fartin' arse are ye doin' out here fallin' out of trees?  Tryin' to tap inta yer inner bird and learn ta fly?"  he says as he attempts to help Lia to her feet and get her back towards the gathered group.

Chataya hears the fall and then hears Taklinn call her name. She rushes to him and sees Lia on the ground. She reaches out to her with a heal [Heal 9] and checks for broken bones.

She grins up at Taklinn. "You and I should team up. We've saved this one's life quite a few times." She laughs lightly, trying to dispel the gloom she feels. "She's always in trouble, it seems."

"Aye I carry 'em and ye heal em up!" he says with a smile.  " 'Course I'm here to serve all of me neighbors, 'cept those dusklings mind ye.  And, Lia was it?  I would strongly advise ye not go out by yerself at night without someone knowin' where ye were.  Jastrey's countryside at night can be a dangerous place.  At least lettin' someone know that yer headin' out and where ye be goin can be the difference between life and death around here."  he says seriously.  "It seems that ye got it all under control around here, I will be seein' ye around.  He then walks over and gets his bucket, heads back down to the lake and fills it and once again begins his trek up the trail back towards town.

Lia, though thankful for their help, wasn't really sure how to take their comments. She started to respond to Taklinn's comment about why she was falling from trees, but was interupted by Chataya as the Ixifar-healer rushed to her aid. The samirian Ixifar was again amazed by the spread of healing magic washing over her. She had seen it before, though it was still not something she was used to. This awe of Chataya's magic almost was enough to distract Lia from hearing the healer's joking comment to the dwarf. But at hearing it, Lia's attention was drawn back to them and her face gained a slight look of displeasure. 'I never got in so much trouble before coming to your crazy town.' She thought bitterly to herself.

Though, before she could piece together a retort in her mind, Taklinn spoke directly to her. Keeping her face smooth for the helpful drawf, she couldn't help but think rather sarcastically about the fact that she had -soo- many people to run and tell where she was going. She nodded to him, "Thanks. See ya." Her blue eyes turned to the fellow Ixifar beside her. "And thanks to you, Miss Chataya. That is the second time you've given me aid now, and I won't forget it. I certainly owe you my weight in water." Lia inclines her head in a slight bow.

Chataya grins at her dwarven friend's back as he leaves. "See ya, Taklinn," she calls to his retreating back. She turns to Lia. "Friend, I am delighted to help you. And I would be even more delighted to get to know you better." She grins and reaches out and hugs the other woman quickly. "How long have you been away from Sirisin?"

Silver's head snaps around at the mention of Sirsin.  There were a few Ixifar in this town, and it was a welcome sight.  Although she didn't harbor much hope that any of them would have news of the caravan that she had grown up with, nor of her Ixifar caretaker Ilistar.  She briefly looked to the stars as she thought of him, before turning back to regard thier conversation with casual interest.

After an awkward pat on the back, Lia eyed her kin with interest. "Heh...not very long." She started but trailed off. The presence of so many others stayed her tounge. Looking up into Chataya's gaze, the samirian Ixifar gave a pleading look and a small jerk of her head off towards the woods. When the healer nodded in acknowledgement, she sighed her relief. They turn towards the woods together and disappeared into their midst.

Noticing the small nuances of the Ixifar wanting to leave, the Empyrean turned back to the water and the moonlight.  And it had started out as such a quiet and relaxing evening.... But such things should be expected in Jastery.  Silver began to quietly sing to the stars, looking at the vastness of the universe just out of her grasp.
