Up from the Underground

On a beautiful mid-summer day, a little gnome dressed in various mismatched plaid patterns comes strolling down the road not far from the tavern. She walked slowly, taking time to admire the trees, the breeze, the smells, and the sunshine.

In the small clearing between the tavern and the road, Lylonna found a nice spot in the sun to kick back and relax in. She set her pack with all her books and research within reach, and laid sprawled out in the grass. Basking in the afternoon sun the small gnome smiled to herself at the excitement of reconnecting with her friends, and as she made mental bets as to how long it would take someone to notice Lylonna is back...

Zwey, walking back to the Crack of Noon from a meeting with the Corsairs, noticing the gnome that had left with Brodix several mestrun ago. Walking over, the large angori adjusts his pauldrons, which he hadnt quite broken in yet. Blocking out the sun, Zwey squats down, offering a hand, "Shadowlark was it? You game my brother Biero something before you headed off with that immortal. How ya been?"

Lylonna took the large Angori's hand and sat up, happy to see a familiar face.

"Shadowlark it is! How is Biero doing? Well I hope! I've been quite busy myself. Brodix is AMAAZZING!" The gnome reached for her bag and held it close to her chest. "Brodix and I have so many experiements and inventions, and his lab is full off every Doodad and Dohicky and Thingamajig and cogs and bolts and tools and.. and the NAGNOMES!"
Excited to have someone other than an immortal to converse with, Lylonna took a breath and calmed herself. "Anyways, I wanted to get some sunshine and make sure Jastrey hasn't burnt to the ground without me." The little gnome giggled at the thought of how many times the tavern has been rebuilt. "Even if it has, the nagnomes should be functioning properly now. We use them all the time to fetch supplies."

Lylonna leaned in toward the Angori, "So tell me, how's Jastrey been faring? And where is everyone?"

Trivet comes skipping out of the tavern after enjoying his cold glass of milk. Upon seeing the familiar gnome his pace quickens to a full out sprint. "Cousin Lylonna!! Its really you! I've missed you soooo very much!" he slows down to embrace his older cousin.

"Well, outside of the time rifts and demonic invasions, pretty good. The tavern still stands, at least. What brings you back to the land of mortals?"

Fu had been wandering, pondering. He read scrolls that held future designs. He sighed placing a hand to his head wiping sweat from his brow. He looked away from the scrolls and noticed Zwey. Curious, the dwarf approached and in doing so he saw Trivet and Lylonna?... Fu thinking he was delirous rubbed his eyes. After seeing that Lylonna indeed was still there he quickly walked to the group of three. "Lylonna san? Is that really you?"

Lylonna spotted Trivet just in time to brace herself. She instantly recognized the rosey-cheeked blur coming at her as her younger cousin, and stealthy protege.
"GNOOOOOMEEEES!!" she squealed as she embraced family. The gnome then spotted her favorite dwarf, "And FUCHUUUU!" Addressing them all, "I'm not up for terribly long; I must get back to our experiments before they start to ferment. I decided to come gather supplies myself instead of sending the nagnomes. I've got some ideas in the works for.. upgrades.. that I need some ...thingies... for too."

With the sun starting to set, and a cool breeze carrying the scents of Treygard in the kitchen making its way through the trees, Lylonna started to make her way to the tavern. "But now I must get a move on procuring some culinary masterpieces before the Angoris--no offense Zwey--catch wind of these smells!"
