Kade hesitated before the grand doors of the library. The goings on of Jastrey and the company of new aquaintances had allowed her to "forget" her promises, but in the quiet after the ascencion, Kade's unfulfilled promise knocked ominously and insistently on her still-developing conscience demanding answer. So here she was.
She knocked and then pushed in the heavy wooden doors, beating her wings for a bit of an extra push. The stacks and shelves of books towering on forever flustered and bewildered her. "He...Hello?" she called out shakily. "Weylan?" She shut the door behind her as softly as she could close a heavy door. "Pelleus?"
She waited for a moment, hearing no response. Please no. Please no. Please no. "Siska?" She crossed her fingers and toes hoping it wouldn't come to that.
Kade looked up at the enormous construct in awe. She'd never seen such a being before,"Oh. Hello.... My name is Kade," she said offering her hand. "I'm looking for some information on something I came across in my travels across Tarkalsys." She eyed the portal warily, having never seen such condensation before. This entire interaction was strange and surreal.
Rune takes notice of the fae's discomfort due to the portal, and closes it. The golem's lights and markings flash for afew moments as it thinks, and then points to bookshelf. "Third shelf from the bottom, 22nd through the 25th books from the right. Those tomes contain what the library knows on Tarkalsys. This one will send for Poppy, anouther fae, who will know more." Rune opens a small portal, and conjures a scrap of parchment. Writing appears on it, and it drops into the portal."

After a few moments a fae flutters into the library carrying a small scrap piece of paper in the hands. "Ruuunne?" she called peering down the bookcases. "Ah there you are" She said noticing the snow covered golem. "You needed me for something?" She inquired curiously
Kade thanks Rune as she shuffles her feet. She smiles sheepishly upon seeing the fae Poppy again, and breathes a sigh of relief when she sees the more familiar Pelleus. "Hello Pelleus! and hello to you as well Poppy. I need some assistance with something I've seen in Tarkalsys. I was wondering if someone could devote a bit of time to studying with me." The small fairy glanced again around the large library before looking back at her feet. "I don't really know how to use a library. I was just told that this is where I could find some answers."
"oh Hello, Kade." Poppy chirped. "Well you placed a good place to start." She said with warm smile. "I lived in Tarkalsys for many years and am quiet familiar with it. What is it about the place you are curious about?" She inquired as she plucked a couple of books from the shelf Rune pointed at earlier.
Weylyn stepped out of a side room with a couple books under his arm. "Did someone call me?" He asked as he looked at the group. "Oh, Hello Kade-san. Have you been able to find all you require today?" He asked politely as he walked over and glanced at the spine of one of the books in his hand and slid it into an open space on a nearby bookshelf.
Poppy began flipping through the book already knowing what she was looking for. "If it in the swamp. I have a good guess for which immortal it was raised for." She stops on a page with the words Great Marsh in bold as the heading. "It was more then likely Dhuroscht." the fae said in an oddily cheerful manner. "Can you describe me the house and alter some perhaps? Maybe who hibated the shack as well, all are helpful information" She said nodding
"As far as I could tell it was unnoccupied. It was a small wooden shanty, poorly kept. The only thing in the shack was a stone alter with some kind of inscription around the base. All around the floor were puddles of wax like someone had let the candles burn completely away, and in between the candles were lanterns from which all the oil had burned out." Kade shuffled her feet again, "I'm sorry. I don't know what language was used for the inscription."
"Oh no it is okay." Poppy said reassuring her."If you could perhaps take me there I may be able to translate. Or if you recall the any of them?" She suggested. At Rune's suggestion Poppy makes an uneasy face. "It may be best if only you and I were to go Rune. Non 'monsters' are not really well received that close or in the swamp. We may blend in the best."
Poppy pauses for a moment giving the other fae a curious look. "Why is this important, if you do not mind me asking that is."
"After struggling to survive on the marsh for days beyond my counting, I was at the end of what strength I knew I had. I stumbled upon this shack, and I rested there for the night curled against the stone altar. I cried out to whatever immortal it was raised to honor. I swore that if he or she would make me survive the rest of my trek and let me see the what existed beyond the eclipse I would do them homage and live for their causes until they saw fit to let me die." She looked at her feet, feeling the eyes of the docents upon her foolish little form. "I realize now that this was a rash promise, but whatever immortal I petitioned saw fit to let me survive. Now it is my turn to hold up my end of the deal. But I do not know whom I serve."
The construct nods, "Has this immortal made any significant contact with you? This one has noticed many creatures will give thanks and beg for help, only to lift themselves out of thier struggle. They then feel the need to thank those who do not deserve it." Rune then looks with it's blue gaze at Poppy before continuing, "This one see's no need to not include Kade. There is very little on that swamp that this one cannot destroy."
Poppy shakes her head " The direct contact may have been the alter. What are you describing sounds like Dhuroscht he has a heavy influence on the swamp, but we will not know for sure till we find it again." She pauses for a moment before continuing. "Though.. it does sound like a deal the king of fiends, the seventh death, would make. Did anything else odd happen to you after interacting with the shrine?" she inquired.
She laughs at Rune's response about the swamp. "Well good then! guess you can just take us there yourself, Kade." she said with a toothy grin.
"Aside from ME surviving the entire trek across the Great Marsh and coming into contact with the hosts of monsters that make their home there? No." She began to take off her earrings to give to the great construct. "Well... and the becoming a fairy thing. But I've come to blame myself for that."
Weylyn listened to the exchange. This was out of his usual experience but he was still curious about it. "Are you sure you wouldn't need anyone besides the three of you? I know I'm not as skilled as the two of you but I will admit to being curious to see this shrine."
He paused before listening to kade and tilted his head. "Are you sure you're to blame kade-san? Well I mean possibly. But from what you told me it was a stranger in the Swamp that turned you into a fae? Could that possibly have been either punishment or 'reward' for dedicating yourself to an immortal..." his ears flattened for a moment as he came to a different potential theory. "Could this have been a shrine to Muralakrum?" He hazarded after a moment.
"Benevolent?." she said with a light giggle as she placed the books back upon the self. " Any immortal can be seen as that, It all depends if you are in there favor or not." She stops to listen to the Ulf for a moment "I did not think of Muralakum, he is not as common as some of the other immortals in Tarkalsys, However he does have a hold in Goven, which is a town in the middle of the Great Marsh.." she said pondering it for a moment. "We will not know for sure till I can get a good look at the objects at the shrine as well as it's runes."
"Mhm?" she said looking up a Weylyn. "You may come, it was just a fair warning." she said with a soft smile.
The construct takes the earrings, and they levitate afew inches off it's palm. "These will get us close to the shrine, or even just on Tarkalsys. We should cross-reference known shrines and alters with what we know of Kade's, and then get directions from a local." The golem looks at the fae before continueing, "You were changed into a Wylde? What were you before?"
Rune stood in the library, again covered in snow examinining piles of books. An open portal dominates one side of the room, through witch one can see a snow covered gate that leads deep into a mountian. The construct takes notice of the voice and locates the source, finding the sheepish fae. "Hello. How can this one help you?"
