What the hell was that?

A mid-season night in Jastrie, the smell of ale and blood filled in the air. Warm and comfy, the perfect weather for a hunter. (Late during night, around midnight.) a silent force swept through the forests of Jastrie. A shadowy figure dodged all trees, and jumped out of the shrubs and bushes, landing behind the Tavern. Noticing the town was quiet, the figure glued to the wall. It was dark, quiet, and felt deserted. The perfect time. The figure unlatched one of the windows to the Tavern and peeked in. Noticing that some people were dead asleep on the tables of the Tavern, and some chatting back and forth. Quickly and dead silently, the figure slipped through the window and crouched under a chair. Noticing a small pouch filled with shining gold, the figure reached to grab it.

Katri's sharp senses locked on to the figure crouched beneath the chair, "YOu had best put that back, theft ees not tolerated vell here."

She eyed him from her place at a table near by, where she had sat since the outburst earlier.

The hand froze. The figure didn't move. The hand quickly plucked out acouple coins and jumped out of the window in which he came from.

"I am steell far too tired fhor thees..." Katri sighed and hopped up, following the figure outside.

"Stop and come back here." Katri's voice was stern and somewhat commanding as her eyes found the escaping figure easily. "You are more than velcome here eef you vill go put those back, but I vould rather not haff to hunt you down and haul you to a deputy..."

Then, as the figure was unmoving, it fell to the ground. The figure had used the art of substitution, an ancient technique in which a person can use his or her surroundings to blend in with themselves. It was a simple piece of wood... The figure had escaped.

Katri sighed and turned back into the tavern, muttering tiredly to herself. She guessed she could speak to Akon about it later, when she went back to speak to the woman.
