Wyndfere wanders away from town and fins himself straying from the road and entering the woods and coming to a clearing. He stops to look at the night sky - the shooting stars, the constellations, and spots all the gods and goddesses.
Then Wyndfere caws out to them, again and again like a raven. He breathes heavy and yells out, "Do you really think you can keep me from entering your gates? After I sacrificed everything. My family. My home. My love. And now...now I have nothing left. When is this going to end?! What have I even done to deserve banishment and loneliness? I never killed anyone, stole, lied... When will it end?!"
He falls to his knees and points at the sky with a wild eye, "But believe me, whatever power that's bringing me down, I'm coming for you! I'm going to bring you down to this shard and take my place on your throne. And I'll do whatever necessary to make it mine."
Then from the woods, a snap. Wyndfere whips his head around and spots a deer. "Easy dear, I mean you no harm." He makes his way to the deer.
