Akon rode back wearily, sitting along the bench of the now empty, and bloody cart being pulled along by a solitary quarter horse. She appeared tired, and worn. Her body was covered in ash and soot, and far far off on the very outter rims of what could be seen from Jastrey's walls a pillar of smoke rose high in the distance. All the dead of the Blood Drinkers were gone about the town and fields of Jastrey as she had gathered them the day before into the cart which she drove back now, empty. All the dead which she had taken were gone, and the pyre far in the distance burned below the pillar that could be seen on the horizon. She wiped a bit of sweat from her brow under her dark hood with the back of her wrist, as she gave the riens on the quarter horse's back a gentle pull, guiding the beast back towards the farm lands. Once there, she undid the horse's restrains and let it drink deeply from the trough. She watched the animal with solumnity, her bland expresion returned, and all joy that she had perhaps let bleed through the night of the talent show, utterly absent from her gaunt features.
Putting the stead away properly in the growing daylight, she washed down the cart with some water from the trough with a bucket, and then made her way down to the lakeside.
