Story Notes
This cinematic serves to propose actions, knowledge, and interactions of NPCs encountered by Garen and Cedar in their trip to Huel Vor to continue research into the fiendish contract involving the Duke of Shirelan.
GUIDELINES: All information is given as guidelines, as otherwise this content would be much longer, and unwieldy; it is meant to convey information in as direct a manner as possible. It may be altered slightly for presentation, but factual information should not exceed what is provided herein.
1.1 – The Wayfarer's Wind
Scene Notes
While the pocket dimension gifted by Lustrael normally only allows players to return to the exact point they entered from, when Cedar attempts to leave this time he will find himself outside Huel Vor. Cedar has been thus moved by the Wayfarer's Wind twice before, and recognizes the city of Huel Vor.
2.1 – Warm Welcome
Scene Notes
Cedar's connection to the nether is easily noticeable by any paladin, especially given he does not hide it. Garen pledging for his safety will not be enough, as he is only a squire. Jet the Wolf backing Garen will at least get them in. Judge Judith the Vindicator will not be pleased, but will allow it; though she will comment on Jet's backing, and make it clear that - should Cedar do anything, Garen will take equal punishment given the necromancer. She is especially against the idea of allowing a necromancer anywhere near the honored dead, and will hold Jet personally responsible if anything happens as well; and will assign two additional paladins to accompany them if they do go to investigate the honored dead.
3.1 – Signed, Sealed, and Devilled
Scene Notes
Consulting the library in Huel Vor can reveal some information regarding "Barbas". They are not one of the standard fiendish types, but an incubus or succubus - Barbas' true form has never been recorded, they appear in many guises. Their fiendish alignment lies with Hexadus, though they also follow Secronus. Barbas is not known to engage in combat, but is a well known negotiator. They deal in all manner of goods, services, and information, and while they may not speak the full truth, they are known for being completely honest in their statements (surprising for a fiend).
4.1 - Honored Dead
Scene Notes
The disturbed "relics" and bodies all belong to paladins, specifically the oldest bodies, and even more specifically those who were fleshforged. Bodies are completely removed from the crypts, and nothing else has been disturbed. If Cedar attempts to gather information from any spirits, they are not likely to speak with a necromancer initially (they are still paladins). If convinced to do so, they can confirm a multi-armed figure was recently in the crypts, but not much else.
5.1 - See Justice Done [Addendum]
Scene Notes
Gallo will accept Cedar's offer. This has no in game effect, but may be used in future content. He will ask that Cedar salute Jet for him, in person, and tries to help jet trust Cedar more.
