Kade was conflicted as she stood looking at the tavern. On the one hand it was raining, her feet were sore, and she needed information. On the other hand she was never very fond of people in the best of circumstances, and now... well. She feebly shook the water from her wings and dropped her hood before walking inside. As she strode toward the one open bench near the fireplace, she felt every eye on her face and on her wings and on her uncertainty. Or was she imagining it? She dropped her bow by her feet and warmed her small cold hands. She hoped the fire would ignite a desire to be sociable, but she imagined it was unlikely.
Siska looked the fae up and down and noticed her hand on her dagger. Kade was a quick one. "You arrre rrright to grrrab your daggerrr. Howeverrrr, I will not kill you unless you give me prrrrovocation. I am Siska." Siska signaled the waitress over. "A drrrink forrr my new aquaintence! What would you like?" She turned her yellow eyes to Kade.
"I'll have a mead." Kade felt her wings brush the table behind her and thought again. "Actually. All I want is water. And bread," she added. Kade returned her gaze to the shriss. Siska. And chuckled."I don't fight those who don't cross me, so why don't we just agree not to cross one another. You sit over there and play nice. I'll sit over here and play nice."
Kade glanced around at the variety of other peoples in the dim tavern. "Same thing as the rest of you I'll wager: mysterious portal. Last thing I remember was on a mountain looking out over Broma. Next thing I'm stepping into a pine wood in the rain. Few more miles and here I am in Jastrey. You?"
Siska hisses her raspy laugh, "That portal got the betterrr of you, eh?" She takes another swig from Her tankard of whisky and chicken blood. "I came herrre frrom Sirrison. My business is my own." Her relaxed nature departed swiftly and the flicker of the warm fire glittered on her bright green facial scales. "This is not the place forrr little fairrries who cannot keep theirrrr wits about them. Rrrrrun back home, little one."
"Therrre is verrry little I know about fairrries. They can be cleverr but also cowardly," at this Siska spat into the fire. The flames flickered slightly as if her saliva was flamible and then settle back down to a peaceful crackle. "I have met few in my trravels, howeverrr there is one here in Jastrey. Herrr name is Poppy. I would seek her out to ask your questions."
Kade went to lean back against the wall, but stopped again as she felt her wings brush the wall. She cursed internally. How long would it take her to get used to this? Instead she leaned forward, elbows on the table. "I can tell you don't think much of me. That's fine. You don't know me. But know this, shriss: I've killed more shriss than you've probably seen. We can be enemies if that's what you want. I wouldn't advise it." The waitress returned to the table with her water and bread. Kade wished for a tankard of anything stronger than water, but knew now wasn't the time to find out how she would handle it. "And I didn't who knew something about fairies. I want to know what you've heard."
Weylyn made his way into the tavern after a long day of searching books for myths and legends. Upon his entrance he scanned the establishment for familiar faces and found two along with one he didn't know. He signaled the bar keeper for a drink before heading over to their table. "Greetings Poppy-san, Siska-san." He nodded to all three in turn. "Might I join you and your friend."
Weylyn sighed. "Not much. Most of the books I've found concern themselves more with vampires, and phase spiders and the like rather than more "mundane" dangers. Though they do warn to watch the waters. It seems shriss like to ambush from the water, lying in wait for caravans to pass... interesting read but it's not the best discussion for a meal." He told her as someone brought his drink.
Weylyn looked surprised as he took the other woman's hand by reflex. "So you've encountered Shriss? As far as I can tell ambushes seem to be their favored tactics. Usually from underneath. Water in Tarkalsys, sand in Sirison, but they're almost nonexistent in records everywhere else. Where are you from?" He asked breaking into a slight rambling fit.
"I was born in Halfway, grew up in the fringe of the Great Marsh." She paused a moment. How much did strangers need to know? "I've spent the past year traveling across the marsh. I don't know a great deal about shriss, but I do know what they sound like when they think they're smarter than you." She darted her eyes toward Siska. "But this one is different."
Poppy laughs watching the two fire remarks back and forth. " Yes, I am Poppy." Hearing Siska's remark about help she raises and eyebrow. "Mhmm What would it that you need my assistance for?' She asked curiously "Ah you are from Halfway, we visited there a few moons ago for the Reaping festival." The fae said cheerfully.
Kade shifted her attention to the pale fae. "What do you know about fairies?" She looked at the perplexed faces around the table. "I know it's a strange question coming from me, but considering the wings and the tattoos and whatnot, I would like to know whatever you can tell me about what it means to be a fairy."
"Umm quite a lot. There are four major factions of fae. The seelie, unseelie, wydle, and sidhe. They represent the seasons summer, winter, fall, spring. Each have a different culture and views. Typically the seelie and unseelie views highly conflict each other while the other two fall inbetween. There are two major court systems of the fae this is the winter and summer court." She stopped for a moment taking a seat at the table. "Would you like to know about the life cycle as well?" She asked calmly."So what it means to be fae may vary quite a bit." "I suppose it would be better if you just ask me whatever questions you have and I can go from there?" She said giggling .
Kade ignored the banter between the two ferals, focusing all her attention on the answers she was seeking. She lowered her voice and leaned toward Poppy. "Look. I'm not a fairy. Not really. And I'm not crazy." She paused, choosing her words. "This HAPPENED to me. I was a commoner, and then I wasn't, and there was no explanation. It took me forever to learn to balance again after these wings. What else do I need to know about myself?"
Weylyn chuckled "and not answering would just prove it assuming I hadn't seen how you interacted with Swift at the tower." He waved a hand dismissively. "But there's enough ears around I can't fault you for not wanting to put anything in words." He said with a chuckle though the way one ear was turned to the two fae he was at least half listening in though his attention remained on siska.
"Mhmmm that seems to be happening quite a bit, as of late." She said mimicking the other fae's soft tone. "Well by the looks of you, you are a Wylde fae. Most of them live outside of the two court systems so suppose you don't really need to know about that. The ones I have met I have all been chaotic in nature." "Ooo flying is always the hardest parts for the enfants. The only other thing- oooooooo I guess you have to know about would be the ageing system that is really different compared to humans. We fae don't really age physically past 16-ish, well some do but it rare. But mental progression changes usually occurs through metaphorisis which are triggered by life events." "So unlike humans some fae can look like adults but still be very child like for all there life. I could example of this is Nava." "If you have ever met the boisterous little fae" she said laughing
"Mhmm drink?" She said chuckling. "Yes, that should, be fine I have seen some fae out drink dwarfs. Would think your tolerance remained the same."
Kade breathed a sign of relief, "Thank the immortals." She flagged down the waitress and requested a stout cider. "As far as aging is concerned, I'm perplexed. I was 22 when the transformation occured. I still feel like myself as far as my thought and actions are concerned. Do you think I'll regress?" Before the fairy could continue, she followed one question with another. "Wait. Did you say this is happening a lot lately? Other people are being turned into fairies too?"
Seeing that Siska had lost interest in the back and forth he turned his attention back to kade. "It's more of a rash of citizens becoming something they weren't originally. I know of several, we've had gnome to grarl, faun to dryad, and urdeq to sprite to give a few examples." He told the two newcomers.
She sighed to herself. There didn't seem to be any reason to mistrust Weylyn or Poppy, and she couldn't see what harm the information would be in the hands of the shriss. "Well, then let me clarify. I wasn't completely honest with you earlier. I don't know how I became a fairy, but I do know why." She looked around at their expectant faces. "Back when I was trekking across the Great Marsh, I hit a very low point where I could not find natural food. Nothing I could kill was fit to eat whether it be poison or monster. I thought I was hallucinating at first, then I thought briefly that I might be one to see visions, but there truly was a magnificent garden and cottages buried in a grove of willows. I partook of the water as a sign by the creek directed I may, but my eyes grew larger than my stomach when a flock of white geese paddled by me. I killed one to eat and the master of the house stormed out and berating me for my ingratitude. He had given me fresh water, and I hadn't even thought to ask him for food! I hadn't seen a person, if he was a person, in weeks, and it hadn't occured to me to ask. He looked to be a weak old man, so I stayed my arm, but I couldn't stay my tongue." She looked around the table again before continuing. " I told him I didn't take lip from 'hoary scrotums'. And I told him that after all the magical and mythical beasts I'd faced I had no fear of him. Next thing I knew I was flying over the trees and crashing into a shallow green pool. When I woke up, I had these," she finished as she weakly wiggled her wings.
Kade's looks were daggers. "Who would've known such a blustering old wrinkle would've had magic!" She grabbed the tankard from their waitress's hands and downed it before continuing. She she knew she'd been stupid. She didn't need Siska to point it out. "You're stepping on my nerves, lizard." She turned back to the fae and the gnarl. "I just thought I should be honest so that anyone investigating would know if my case is tied to the others. There is one other thing I need to know though. Who can I see about reversing the change?"
Weylyn shook his head "Siska-san. That's not really fair to our friend here. She was tired, hungry and that makes me irritable at the best of times. I'm sure it's semiliar to yourself." he said with a disapproving shake of his head. If she was thinking straight she might have paused to think how someone so old and frail looking could have survived that long in the swamp." he pointed out "Even if you were to ignore the wisdom of folk tales."
"As for turning back, that's... well... not difficult per say since there are potions that can turn you back. Those are not... uncommon. But finding the specific race is more difficult. I've only seen three such potions in Jastrey, and none of those were commmoners, and the gnome who sold them tends to only come around infrequently." he told her. "The other option is... well one that I would advise against from the stories I've heard..."
Kade leaned forward and grabbed his hand. "Please tell me. Being a fairy might be fine for the fairies. And I know there are few who want to be common, but I know who I am... was... and want to be again." She felt an unsolicited tear come to her eye. "People looked down on me before, but now they look down AND smile."
Weylyn winced "This one is probably about as rare... but it is more random. Hense why I wouldn't suggest trying to do this. You probably don't know that Jastrey seems to attach immortal attention for some reason." He said looking between both Siska and Kade before continuing "Well from what I've heard Muralakrum makes an appearance occasionally, and when he does so alot of people end up changed. Why I advise against it though, is he just changes you... I've heard tales of some Jastrians that turned into chickens, so who's to say you wouldn't end up as say... a fish." He looked back at kade with sympathy "It's the option of last resort, you'd be much better off trying to find a potion than offer abasement to the faceless one."
"I agree. That seems foolish. I will put that hope in my back pocket while I search for another." She pulled her hands back, and used them for tearing bread instead of begging. "You said there are quite a few of the potions floating about, but they were unlikely to return me to my original state. Do you know who I could find to make me a potion?"
"I apologize for eavesdropping on your conversation" a low voice calls from the shadows of the hearth. I don't think we have met, iblith...I mean Siska.... I am Vyr."
"Some of You have seen on one field of battle or another and are not unknown to me, so greetings". Although the words are warm, the voice and stance are not. The golem seems emotionless, and like a spring, coiled to act.
"You seem a bit hard on the fae, who was just a young lass, hungry, tired, and unfamiliar of the area."
The obsidian form bows low again fingers working indpendently, as if in a form of communication.
"Perhaps there are some advantages to having wings young lady, scouting ahead, greater range for your bow. It may not be as bad you think. Also, pay no attention to the lizard, she is no threat".
The golem sits back down in the shadows, with no emotions in either his eyes, or voice.
"I am Vyr, a wanderer of Jastrey. I also found myself trapped in a different body, but have found it useful."
"I also lost a vast portion of my memory in the transfer, but I still live.....I think."
"Were you not at my left during the battle against the outraged villagers when the plague fell? I remember a woman with a bow there."
Kade looked skeptically at the wanderer. "I have no memory of this battle. As far as I remember, I only arrived this afternoon by way of portal from Tarkalsys." She stared into her fresh tankard. "I suppose my memory might be as addled as my form, but I have no recollection of you."
"Must have been a different bow woman then." He shrugs his shoulders making the mithril webs etched into his obsidian body dance in the firefight.
"Well I am certain that your bow will be tested and soon. This place attracts trouble as flies to an iblith pile."
"While things are peaceful now, it would be an opportune time to stretch your knowledge of your new form, know it inherently. Its strengths, weaknesses, and how best to use it in combat."
"If you need hand to hand training, I can assist you." there
Weylyn raised an eyebrow "You are quick to dismiss someone as not a threat, Golem-san. Still she's not a threat to though here." He looked at the two "Though I think you might be mistaken. Neither of these Ladies fought with us against the demon." He said with a shake of his head. "He has a point though Kade-san. Jastrey isn't a place to be unfamiliar with what you're capable of. At least until you can find a way to return to normal."
"Sorry Weylan, you misunderstand me, she isn't a threat here. Its open, no place to hide for an ambush."
"Now if we were somewhere else, matters could be different, but here her tongue wags sharp words, belittling a person she has not seen on a field of battle."
"I would not speak thus to anyone, especially if I didn't know if they were capable of carving out said tongue."
"I back up my words with deeds Weylan, would you agree with that statement?"
Kade rolled her eyes. "I used to talk softly and carry a big stick". Anger flashed in her eyes. "Now my big stick is a set of wings I can't use, and I can practically feel everyone around me dismissing me as easy pickings. People can't see the big stick anymore, so I have to tell them all about it.However," she continued, "I would gladly learn what another warrior would teach me."
Weylyn studied the golem "Have we actually been introduced? I've seen you on the battlefield but I don't think we have." He told the golem "No I suppose not. Though I suppose I would simply not speak as such to anyone. But it is not my place to belittle or rebuke." He said leaning back in his chair and taking a sip of his drink
"You are a foolish Golem to think me not a threat. And your ambush skills must not be very formidable if you consider this place open." Siska rose to her feet, slamming her dagger into the wood of the table causing everything on it to jump. She continued, her harsh voice low and icy, "I have already said I am unlike any Shriss you have ever met. You tell me not to speak so to someone I have never met. You say she may cut out my tongue." Siska got close to the Golems emotionless face, "I not only cut out tongues, Sir Golem, I feed them to their owners. Do not speak to me or about me like you know me!" Siska, fully enraged, turned to Kade. "And you, You are a spoiled child with little sense in your head! Stop whining about what you are and use it to your advantage!"
At that Siska wrench her dagger out of the table threw the rest of her drink into the fire causing it to flair up and temporarily blind those sitting close by. In that instant Siska had climbed the fireplace and the wall, and sat quiet hidden in the shadows of the rafters of the tavern. She needed to calm down before she returned to civilization. Perhaps a walk in the forest would help her.
Poppy watched happened before her rather quickly turning her eyes away to miss the bright light. She glanced up without being too obviously to where the shriss now resided. Turning back to kade. "You will learn to navigate your wings, it may take a bit of time. But instincts will kick in." "As far as being easy picking, I take offense. The attention of wings should make no change to your ability, If they think you are easy to kill that is their own fault and downfall." She said taking a deep breath before glancing toward the golem. " I would assume by your tone you are war forged, correct?" She said as she rested her face on her palm. "I would think someone made for the battlefield would know better then dismissing someone at first glance?"
Weylyn jumped as Siska slammed the knife into the table. Though he was a little more prepared as she spat alcohol into the fire. Merely closes is eyes so he wasn't blinded. Though it meant he had to follow her upward progress by sound over the surprised onlookers. Once he opened his eyes he was able to pinpoint her in the rafters. He sighed "that's something like my sister would do." He said to himself. As he let poppy talk to the two at the table as he kept an eye on the upset feral while not being too obvious.
A low chuckle began to emanate from the golem. Impassively he watched the antics of the Shriss. Turning from the scene he looks at Poppy. "I don't really know what I am."
"I was once flesh and blood, but I died and awakened as you see me now." The golem looks down at the etchings on his hands, watching the spiders carved there dance in the light of the fire. "The change, process, reincarnation, call it what you will has taken its toll though. I have lost most of my memory. I can only recall certain portions of my past."
"I know not truly what a warforged is,this form was just a statue that I myself created and somehow animated, but I assume a golem designed for battle. I am that, milady, I am that."
Vyr turns to regard the Shriss, "You allow emotion to intefere and control you. I would expect more control of a velg'larn. The slight was intentional, I wanted to see the reaction. I was not disappointed."
Vyr's obsidian hand fingers the gouge in the table left by the dagger. "A veiled threat does not disturb me tizzin, perhaps one day we will see what we see."
"I wanted to see control Weylyn. Command of the situation."
The golem looks directly at Weylyn. "Do you command magic Weylyn, or does it command you? It is no different with sword play, or hand to hand combat. One can allow their emotions to rule them, making them reckless, or take that emotion, command it and use it to heighten your combat. I approached this table to offer assistance to a person afflicted, and all the while, the tizzin mocked her, belittled her. I could not allow that to continue. So I tested the tizzin."
Deciding the scene below her was no longer worth her time, Siska crept out of the open sunlight onto the roof of the Tavern and dropped silently to the ground. She slinked her way out of the town and into the near by wood. She needed to do something to calm her anger down before it took over...
Weylyn shook his head "We have very different views of controlling the situation. If you wanted control you would have sought not to escalate the situation. Siska-san was rude yes, but you nearly brought the situation to violence 'just to see a reaction'." He placed some coins on the tabl to pay for his drink.. "Kade-san, I wish you the best of luck settling in. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask, I'm usually in the tower if you need me." He said before turning to the winter fae "Poppy-san, I've had a little luck on putting together the rituals you were asking me about. Mayhaps, tomorrow we can go over the preliminary findings with Rune-san." He finished, offering the table a curt bow. "Farewell." He said leaving the tavern with a nod to the barkeeper
"I apologize Kade, I was not attempting to ignore your question." Vyr leans back into his chair and stares at the now vacant ceiling. He seems lost in contemplation for a few moments before he settles his gaze back at those around the table.
"I am not a native citizen of Jastrey. I came here from another realm. I was part of a warrior culture that was betrayed by a wizard who had risen high in the esteem of the Jarls." The golem shakes his head. "He was enigmatic, charismatic, and lusted for power. I was leary of him, and gave him an obsidian and mithril statue as a present, but had enabled the statue to be my eyes and ears in his tower."
"Power gave him his secluded tower, where he secretly began experimenting on commoners and wild beasts, attempting to create an army. We brought this to the attention of the Jarls, but they were under his sway."
The golem's fists curl into fists as his thoughts are cast back to darker times. "I was able to assassinate the mage, but his dragon familiar....well let's just call it a draw...I killed it, but it returned the favor."
Uncurling his fists, the golem continued, "I floated in the Void for sometime, but I closed my eyes, and opened them on a beach here, animating the statue that was in his tower."
"The thing that scares me is this...I remember my adventures in that other realm, dying and coming here. My first memory is waking up on a battlefield surrounded by the dead, so what came before?"
"Hmm. It seems there truly has been a trend of changing in the world. A swamp town is so small. Who back home would have ever thought such things had exsisted as I've heard in these months?" Kade drank as she thought. She thought of the ecclectic and tempermental Shriss. "You've proved my point, sir. My tongue is far sharper than that of the shriss, but you saw no need to shelter her. Knowing nothing of the two of us, you saw me as the weaker of the two. And," she looked at Poppy, "though you may be correct, for someone so solitary as myself, I place a ridiculous value on reputation and impression."
Poppy nods toward Weylyn as he leave. "Tell me if you find any more." Poppy laughs at the golem comment soft grin on her face. "So, in being what the Siska was doing to Kade, you in turn do the same?." she said laughing shaking her head. "That does nothing to the situation but make it worse, clearly." She said making a motion at the table.
"Yes, by what you are describing sound like you are war forged. They are golem that are created solely for the purpose of being soldiers and grunts. " She stops to swirl the blood in her drink. "Which by the sound of this wizard you were dealing with goal was creating them out of the commoners and beasts ." "Some of the left over magic must of binded your soul with one of his intended vessels would be my best guess as to what happened to you." She said pausing for a moment " And, If you woke up in a field of dead it is pretty clear what came before, things very rarely die on there own."
Poppy smiles her fangs being seem clearly chuckling lightly at the fae's response. " Then if you place such high hopes on it perhaps dressing yourself in furs and bones will accomplish what you wish, rather then complaining with what you have." "Though if you are that distraught suppose we can cut them off." She said laughing in a joking tone.
Althena stepped into the cool darkness of the tavern, watching as an agitated Weylyn passed by. Frowning, she glanced over at the table the feral monk had walked from, taking note of the Poppy with a fey she had never seen before as well as a construct she was unfamiliar with. Glancing over at the serving girl, who nodded at her, Althena wove her way through those who gathered within the popular tavern, taking note of the trio who seemed to be in a somewhat heated conversation. Pausing, she watched the three, wondering if her presence would be welcome or if she should simply gather her tea and settle at one of the few open tables. She was tired from assisting wtih the building of the church as well as restocking her curative supplies. However, she was concerned, and if Weylyn had become agigated by the conversation...
Her mind made up, the Ixifar stepped closer, taking special note of the exchange between Poppy and the unknown fey. Smiling softly as she stepped slightly to Poppy's side, Althena interjected as she smiled at the comments directed to the golem, "Trust me, my dear, Poppy is not weak, and none of the other fey have I met been so, either. Your weapon is of good quality, and I doubt you lack the skill of it." She tilted her head toward the strange golem, brow crinkling slightly. "For any to believe otherwise, well, they certainly need to spend more time in Jastrey to learn otherwise."
She glanced over at Poppy. "I think Mistress Poppy's remedy may be a bit...over the top, however." However, she realized the vampiric fey's words to be in jest, and offered a small smile in her direction.
The healer smiled at the fey, nodding. "And I am Althena, Disciple of Avaren. it is my pleasure to meet you." She glances over at the approaching serving girl. "I hope you don't mind. I had the girl bring over my favorite tea, and I would very much enjoy sharing it with a new friend." She smile turned slightly into a grin. "it is elven, and perhaps the best that Jastrey has to offer."
*Esgir entered the tavern, once a place that was his second home, but he had been oddly absent of late; looking around to see what familiar faces there were to be found. Spying Althena he smiled, he had not seen the ixifar since the day at the Church of Avaren's build site. Approaching the small gathering of adventurers.*
"Alas, this body has no need of food or drink. The sense of smell remains intact for tracking." Nodding toward the Ixifar, Vyr says, "I thank you for the compliment, milady, and I knew the strength of autumn fae in just the size of her bow. She has learned through trial about how anger can consume, which is perhaps what that mage wanted to teach her all along."
The golem sits back crosses his legs at the ankles and motions to those gathered, "Please enjoy your tea, and I would hear more of this realm, the stories, fables, and nightmares."
Smile widening, Althena gestures to a nearby chair. "Esgir Anvilsmiter, this is Kade, newly arrived to Jastrey, and seeking solace as do most who wander her borders. Kade," she turns toward the fey. "This is Esgir, possibly one of the most honest tradesman you shall ever meet." Her eyes settled upon the golem. "I am sorry, Friend Golem, I did not catch your...name?"
Kade turned to Esgir to make acquaintance, before turning back to the golum. "Stories of the realm, you say? I have far more of those now than when I left home. I hoped they would change me in a different sort of way, but nevertheless..." She chuckled. "What kinds of stories do you want to hear?"
Reaching over to pour a cup of tea first for Kade, and then for Esgir, Althena gives a slight shrug of her shoulders, the feathers from her hair rustling softly. "The foundation is set, the walls are up," her smile turns into a grin, "and the dwarves I had hired were kind enough to put a roof on as well, and the foreman is working on plans for adding to the structure, once we have gained enough funds and material to do so. So, the building itself is up. There have been donations and offers of services made, so now I need to get the interior finished so that some of those services can be put the use." She tilts her head slightly. "I understand inspiration has found you as well, and that you are seeking to build an Earthward for Kragg."
She glances over at Kade, watching as the fey tries to pull the golem further into the conversation.
"My name is Vyr milady", said the golem as he stood up and fetching a deep bow, again, his fingers working in intricate shapes and designs as he stood up straight.
"As for stories, I would hear whatever comes to mind. I also understand there are groups and guilds. I have met some Bears, a couple Wolves, and hear of the Docents. Are there other such guilds? What do they stand for or against?"
"I am glad to hear it, Esgir," Althena replied to the dwarf, and then turned to the golem. "Well, I am a Docent. And we are seekers, protectors and sharers of knowledge. The Blood Bears are honorable warriors, and there are many among the mercenary Wolves that I would consider a friend. There are other guilds, and other groups, around Jastrey as well. Each have their own standards, ideals and goals, and I would suggest not limiting yourself to one person's opinion, but go out and seek them, and observe them, for yourself. It is the best way to learn." She tilts her head slightly.
*Nodding to the golem, watching his hand movements closely.*
"Aye, there are many a group within Jastrey; some, such as the Wolf Clan or the Korgon Mercenaries, are swords f'r hire, others, like the Docents, 'ave a more neutral stance in most matters, an' seek to assist annae who they can. Aye am a member of the Docents, the Stormbringers, an' the Gallimaufry, though I fear the Gallimaufry is mostly scattered t' the winds."
"Aye hope ye don't mind m' askin', but what are ye doin' wit' y'r hands Vyr?"
"I...don't know..."
He looks down at his hands again shrugging his shoulders. "I was aware of it when I met some people out in the graveyard. As I was introducing myself they just started moving, and I said something about Weaponsmaster, and house, but it slipped away. I guess I just forget it happens."
"Now that you mention it, it happened again whilst fighting back the demons while we were attempting to get the holy water...we attempted parlay, and my hands just went off of their own accord.."
Poppy had just been listen carefully to what had been said thus far while watching the golem. "That is good that you were able to get what you wanted done with your temple, and you are building one as well Esgir? Huh I suppose that is a good thing it is nice that some of the citzens of jastery can practice there craft in the open." She said cheerfully a small bit of bitterness could be heard in here however voice as she stirred the liquid in her cup with her finger.
"perhaps the signing is a code for something, may have to do with the magic or people that originally placed you in that body? " "Mhmm the graveyard? when were you there?" Poppy said curiously.
*Looking to Kade.*
"Let's nae be jumpin' t' conclusions; correlation is'nae always causation. Vyr also said it were introducin' itself in th' graveyard an tryin' t' parlay with th' demons- an' jest now it were introducin' itself ag'in; it could still be some form o' communication."
Kade stood shakily and grabbed her bow, "Well, this has been a lovely if perplexing evening." Her head buzzed a bit with the cider. "I think I need to stretch my wings, and for those curious: Yes. Fairies also need to piss a lot when they drink. I will be outside. Don't come find me." She looked at each of her party as she bid farewell. "Althena, Es--gir, Poppy, creepy crypty golum, have a lovely evening, I shall take my leave." She walked slowly toward the exit, throwing out her arms and wings whenever she staggered a bit. She heaved open the door and fumbled around the outside of the tavern looking for a latrine or a shady grove.
"I was wandering along one evening when I heard voices, a young Urodeq...she called herself was looking to find one who could tell her about her race."
The golem watched the fae leaving, watching her stumble toward the exit. "There was another fae there, with bone wings...and at least one spider."
Althena watched as Kade simply rose and took her leave - rather rudely, in the Ixifar's opinion - of the conversation. Frowning, she turned to the others, barely listening as the golem recounted its time in the graveyard. "I suppose she truly did not wish to carry on the conversation," she remarked dryly while reaching for the tea pot. Noting that it was empty, she frowned again. "I suppose I should take my leave as well. I have barely seen Marloff these past few days, given that my time was taken up by the building of the warren." She nods to Esgir, Poppy and Vyr in turn. "A pleasure, as always, Esgir, Poppy," she tilts her head slightly at the musing golem. "I am certain we shall see one another again, Vyr." With those words, the healer rose to her feet and made her way out of the tavern, seeking the chambers she shared with the empyrean back at the Dorents' tower.
Poppy glances up as fae stumbles out just in time to see Athena shortly follow. "Goodbye, Althena." she said with a soft smile. Turning back to the golem. "Ah, I think I know what you are talking about now, I had forgot that for a moment. The seer deki?" Glancing back down at his hand she continues "So has the hand movements always been persistent before you were a golem or just something that have just started?"
"Who arrre you?" Siska asked from her dark corner of the table. Apparently the little fae hadn't seen her sitting there warming her cold blood by the fire. She took a long drink from her stine and stared at the new comer, her golden eyes divoid of any warmth.
