As Use Spell, and you are able to use Spell Foci, including rods, staves, and wands. A Spell Focus must be predominantly straight and blunt, and functions as a melee Weapon of its size, so you can use it to attack in melee if you have the appropriate Proficiency. In addition, you can use a Spell Focus to deliver Spell, Sign, and Magic attacks as a melee attack, and may freely add the Pierce Damage Type or apply the Pierce Modifier to any Spell or Sign packet while wielding it. Note that melee attacks made to deliver Spell, Sign, and Magic triggers do not function as the Melee trigger, and still require you to trigger them as you would to use as a packet attack.
