Commander Thorne, or Jedidiah Thorne as he was known at the time, began life as the first child to Christover and Lanara Thorne, two nobles in the Sardian royal houses. The first stages of his life were marked by tutors and weapons masters. He served honorably in the Theocracy's armies and even took part in action subduing Brellin where he was elevated to the Rank of Captain. Following some disenfranchisement due to the way he was compensated for the lands his family yielded to the ever hungry Theocracy, he began to look more sinisterly at the methods employed by the religious organization in his country. Ressic and his followers were rapidly mobilizing for unknown purposes, but the burdens they placed on the country's nobility were too much for Jedidiah Thorne to bear without resentment. Each year more and more religious taxes were applied to his estate, and when his father passed, the swiftly vanishing land became his own. His small fiefdom outside Covercrest had been segmented for different purposes by the Religious Branches of Ressic's Church.
In the years that followed, he earned the rank of Commander from the Theocracy for actions involving the wastes of Rastimier, where rumor has it, he massacred scores of defenseless peoples who dissented paying Sardian tolls outside of Sardian controlled territory. Jedidiah loved Rastemier as a geographical location, and had aims of setting up a secondary estate there with Theocracy permission. But his aims were shot down by a few political opponents who thought him a simple power hungry noble. He found solace with one individual though, a lord who was facing the same sort of problems from the religious authorities within Sardia, Lord Ashfallen.
Their relationship started as that of esteemed collogues, later it developed into a sort of loyalty to one another. Lord Ashfallen directly appealing to the Theocracy's military orders to have the unpopular commander transferred to his own army, and as a Lord General, his desires became reality. Commander Thorne served under Lord General Ashfallen for half a decade before the Lord General, for his own reasons, became so full of dissent, that the theocracy disbanded his forces and put out a warrant for his arrest.
During that time, Commander Thorne sought to claim and hold his once valued political ally's lands, but was denied by the Theocracy of Ressic's Arch Pontif, Sullivan Argemiel Recantous. Thorne was initially tasked by the Theocracy's military order to return to his own dwindling estate and await further orders, instead, the commander took his troops back to the Ashfallen Keep to act as a vanguard for the Lord General and his daughter Talvi. News spread that the lord general had already been captured and killed outside Egent north west of Jastrey. Commande Thorne was delayed from arriving at the Ashfallen Keep in time to assist his friend due to a failed mutiny, and subsiquent purging of his own ranks of any who held their loyalty to Ressic greater than their loyalty to him.
Lord Ashfallen was, however, not dead, merely waiting to see who would rally around his call to rebel against the over reaching Theocracy. Among them, Commander Thorne, his daughter Talvi, Captain Cafran and only a few other minor figures in the fringe groups of the Sardian political and military spheres. Without the numbers to combat the military order bearing down on them, the Ashfallen rebellion ceded for assistance from Jastrey.
For two years, the rebellion has managed to stay alive by evading and striking when they are able against vulnerable targets within Sardian Territory, Commander Thorne, even taking swipes at Mavrador itself and successfully sacking a quarter of the city before withdrawing before the full might of the military order was able to arrive.
Currently [[2020 season opener]] He is with Lady Talvi Ashfallen, Sujaric Kel Dernaztio an angori chief from Rastemier, on the edge of Tarkalsys where they plan the downfall of the Theocracy.
