Weapon You trigger an Initiative ability by attacking the intended target with any melee or ranged weapon before you've been hit. If you do not have the passive ability to use the weapon or it is Ruined, you cannot use the ability. After you're hit, you must rest or use a Haste effect before you can use an Initiative ability again.
