Weapon You trigger an Initiative ability by attacking the intended target with any melee or ranged Weapon before you've been hit. If you do not have the Proficiency to use the Weapon, it is Ruined, or the arm wielding it is Maimed, you cannot use the ability. After you're hit, you must Rest or benefit from a Haste Effect before you can use an Initiative ability again.
