Legend has it that weapons of great power circulate throughout the entirety of Orn; whether intentionally made or gaining strength through valor or myth, the Soulwrought are weapons that contain spirits which lend their prowess to the wielder in times of strife, sometimes outright possessing them.

Becoming Soulwrought

To become a Soulwrought, a player must either come in as a new character which has inherited the weapon after retiring normally, be granted the stigma by an Immortal, or undergo a series of quests to either imbue their weapon or find one that is already forged. Furthermore, players must have a specific combat ability in their class build, depending on which Temper they choose.

Honorforged - Withstand
Devoured - Any Affliction - (Decay, Fatigue, Mute, DazzleWeakness)
Sanguisuge - Bleed
Mythos - Imbue Element

Costuming for Soulwrought Characters

In addition to their normal racial costuming, Soulwrought are required to wield an ornately detailed weapon with one part that visibly glows. The different Soulwrought Tempers all glow a different color which corresponds with their history.

Honorforged - gold or yellow
Devoured - violet
Sanguisuge - blood red
Mythos - blue

Soulwrought Tempers

Honorforged

The golden glow of the Honorforged began as a tradition among Samurai in Vostour, who allowed their greatest warriors to implant their souls into their ancestral weapon. This in turn is passed down to their descendents, though it often skips several generations until a worthy successor presents themselves.

Devoured

The violet glow of Devoured weapons comes from the mixing of unwilling souls trapped within a weapon. Famously to Vostour, Tengu souls have been known to inhabit certain weapons of notoriety. More commonly, necromancers will absorb the souls of their victims or even a willing participant to empower their weapons.

Sanguisuge

The blood red glow of the Sanguisuge develops from truly terrible weapons which have long bathed in the blood of their slain. The more they slice, chop, and crush, the more powerful they become as they feed off the very essence of those they kill. No one is entirely sure how these weapons gain a soul in the first place, though some theorize that they are possessed by opportunist Fiends who manage to infuse themselves during battle.

Mythos

The blue glow of Mythos weapons are a hallmark of these famed tools. Rather than intentionally forged or created through use, Mythos are willed into being by the legendary tales told of their deeds. Almost always relics of renown, they are often left behind trials set up by their previous wielders for the next person who can prove themselves to obtain.
