Acquiring Treasure

Treasure Draws

Random treasure draws occur during breaks. These represent treasure found while adventuring and feature the most lucrative and sought-after treasure, including pre-made equipment, rare resources, and valuables. Because treasure is only drawn at scheduled meal times, it is very important to show up on time for the draw.

Bartering

Between events, you can spend your character's hard-earned gold in player- or faction-run shops. If you want to haggle or barter a better deal, you can contact other players directly and attempt to roleplay with them.

Downtime, Recipes, & Projects

Your trade grants you downtime abilities, which allow you to create treasure during the downtime between events. To create an item, you must have its recipe, the appropriate ability, and any resources the recipe requires. This allows you to start a project. Each project takes one or more days. Once the project is finished, you receive the completed item.

Recipes

A recipe is a special item used to create other items. The Value of a recipe is equal to 20% of the Value of the item it is used to create. You can also copy a recipe. This is a special kind of project that uses the same ability needed to create the recipe's item and does not require any resources.

Gathering and Crafting

Most downtime abilities fall into two categories: Gathering and Crafting. Gathering abilities create resources, items that have no use by themselves but are needed for crafting. Crafting abilities use those resources to make useful items, such as equipment, improvements, or supplies. You do not need resources to start a gathering project, but you need half the value of the finished item worth of resources to start a crafting project. The type of resource you need is dictated by the type of item being produced. For example, you must gather mana in order to craft runes.

Production Yield

Projects take a number of days equal to the created item’s value divided by the daily production yield for your ability level, rounded up. A workshop keyed to the ability can boost your yield further, decreasing the time needed to complete projects. Once a project is completed, you are awarded the item.

For example, to create a Quality 2 trinket, you need the Quality 2 Trinket Recipe and the Trinket downtime ability. If you have Trinket 7, the project takes you 54 days to complete (value 8 divided by 0.15 daily yield, rounded up).
